It’s been a busy year for us here at NapPsych and we are taking some time to recharge between now and January 2. Each therapist has their own holiday schedule and it is best to check in with your individual therapist for those details.

We will still be responding to inquiries in our NapPsych inbox but response times may be slower. We remain dedicated to getting you in to see us in the new year!

✨ WELCOME ✨

We are pleased to share that Alex, Kaitlyn and Olivia, whom recently completed their internships with us, have officially joined our team! Our internship program hires professionals with previous work experience in the field of mental health and whom have trauma training.

✨ Alexandra McCarrol excels in integrative approaches including emotion focused work, attachment focused work and cognitive therapies aimed to support you with behaviour changes, grief, emotion regulation, trauma, living with neurodiversity and life stressors. Alex has availability virtually, during the day and some evenings as well!

✨ Kaitlyn focuses on trauma, stress and burnout, emotion regulation, self-esteem, and life changes, helping clients uncover the tools to move forward with clarity and confidence. Kaitlyn has daytime and evening availability both in-person and virtually.

✨ Olivia provides individualized support for anxiety and stress, emotion regulation, living with ADHD, life transitions, and behavioural change. Olivia offers in-person and virtual sessions, with daytime, evening, and weekend availability.

Today, we are THRIlLLED to announce we will be joining .edithq wellness centre for all things total wellness.

This time of year can bring on many stressors. One of the most common stressors that show up in our office this time of year? Value gaps - mostly related to finances, gift giving and traditions.

Whether it’s gifting, making plans for celebrations or the money that you’re spending, ask yourself these two questions - this requires a level of radical honesty that can be u comfortable - AND - it may direct you toward a holiday season that aligns more with your value system. When we feel more aligned, our nervous system regulates.

At Napanee Psychotherapy we take pride in offering a variety of specialized services, including addressing eating, feeding and body concerns.

Cassandra is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, an internationally renowned designation that comes with 10,000+ hours of client care, ongoing learning requirements and integrative approaches that address other common co-occurrences.

Our treatment program offers collaborative care with RDs and medical professionals and takes an integrative approach, blending evidence based models for children, youth and adults, including critical knowledge as to when you or your loved one would benefit from a higher level of care.

Tis the season right? We know, we know - we haven’t even got to Halloween yet! And we’ve heard from so many of you that you’re already thinking about what lies ahead in November and December.

Olivia and Kailyn will be offering a FREE online counselling group on Monday evenings from 7pm to 8pm starting November 10th. Topics focus on the stress of the season (whatever that means for you!), self-care during these months, boundary setting and the impacts of loss as the year comes to an end.

Last week we did an “unfortunately we do love…” reel. Videos did not crack that list 🤣 however, this is one you’ll want the sound on for. Two things can be true right?

Listen through for why it is important to discuss difficult things. When we speak it out loud, we’re creating space from the experience, which opens the door to respond differently.

What we really mean is “not being a jerk to yourself when you f**k-up is self-care too” but we figured this was more appropriate for the grid ;).

We’ve officially transitioned to fall (what day is it?!) and with any period of transition and change comes more activation, some uncertainty and a rev up of our nervous system. Amidst all of that, here’s this is your reminder.

Maybe it’s hard to get to self love (but you’re working on it right?!) and perhaps the first step is just not being that jerk we referenced above, you know?
