Manitoba is eliminating sick notes! Government officials confirmed today that legislation will eliminate sick notes for any absences of 7 consecutive days or less. This will be the strongest standard in Canada. With over 600,000 sick notes requested per year in Manitoba, eliminating them will free up doctors to see more patients. This is good for patients, good for doctors, and good for Manitoba.

Thank you to the Manitoba government for listening to physicians and moving this forward.

Beginning Tuesday, the rules around employer-requested medical notes will change. It’s a welcome shift that will help reduce paperwork for physicians and make things easier for patients/employees.

Exciting news! 🎉 The Neepawa and Area Family Doctor Finder list has officially been cleared!

What does this mean?
It means every community member should now have a family physician (unless they have chosen to wait).

What if you don’t?
You may not have registered with the provincial Family Doctor Finder program. If anyone still does not have a family physician, please encourage them to register with FDF for future enrollment.

Please note: All physician practices are now closed to new patients.

Receptionist / Clinic Assistant (Full-Time, 1-Year Term)

We are seeking a dedicated Receptionist/Clinic Assistant to join our team full-time, Monday through Friday.

This is a 1-year term position, with the potential to become permanent based on performance and clinic needs.

Hours of Work:
Shifts will vary between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

- Answer and manage incoming phone calls
- Transcribing medical letters
- Operate office equipment efficiently
- Schedule patient appointments
- Greet and register patients upon arrival
- Es**rt patients to examination rooms, take vitals, height and weights
- Prepare examination rooms for use

Qualifications:

- Completion of a Medical Office Administration program is preferred, or equivalent experience
- Manitoba high school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong English speaking skills
- Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism
