Physiotherapist Léonie will be teaching a women’s dynamic climbing clinic this Wednesday! She is excited to work with two other rad instructors, Kristine McKay and Hope Stewart, to help climbers improve their dynamic skills. This clinic will focus on explosive movement, coordination, and committing to big moves.

Please note - this event is sold out, but don't despair! There are more clinics to come this season to expand your climbing skills! Keep an eye on the website and social media account to grab your spot next time. Of course, we'll try and spread the word too! :) Happy Climbing!

We had so much fun at the Fancy Footwork climbing clinic put on by Physio Léonie and Kristine !

Some highlights:
- improved the oh so important triangle stance
- practiced switching feet on small foot holds
- worked on drills for more precise foot placement and weight shifting
- got to hang out with a bunch of rad ladies that love to climb!

Thanks for hosting a great clinic Léonie and Kristine and to the CUBE for having us all! Looking forward to the next one on March 25, 2026.

Physiotherapist (and climber extraordinaire) Léonie and will be teaching a clinic for women this Wednesday night in Nelson at the CUBE! She will be joined by Kristine (another local sender!) to help climbers learn to trust their feet, learn smarter movement, improve precision, and climb with confidence!

The 'Fancy Footwork Clinic' runs from 7:30 - 8:30 pm is for beginner to intermediate climbers.

We have one more introduction to make this week - welcome to the MSC Team Lonnie! Lonnie excels at creating a welcoming atmosphere at our front desk and we are thankful for all she does to keep the clinic clean and organized! You can catch her at the front desk on Thursday evenings or whenever we need more coverage with our front end.

Fun fact: Lonnie loves to play pickleball!

Rachelle joined our MSC team in October, and many of you have already met her at the front desk. As our Patient Care Coordinator, she keeps our schedule running smoothly and makes everyone feel welcome. She’s a certified Medical Office Assistant who loves running, hiking, paddleboarding, camping, and exploring the outdoors—and when she’s not out adventuring, she’s usually enjoying a good book!

Welcome to the Mountain Sport Clinic Team - Physiotherapist Alexis!

Alexis has a strong interest in sports injury rehabilitation and injury prevention. He has completed additional training and has lots of experience working with runners and snowboarders. We think he will fit in quite well!

For his treatment approach, you can expect a combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercise-based treatment plans for home, and education in the session to help you understand what needs to change to either improve your injury or build more performance!

When you see him, be sure to give a big welcoming Nelson high five!

2 new blog posts in 1 month?! I think we can call the MSC blog officially resurrected! The latest post, written by clinic owner and physiotherapist Lori Anne Donald, is all about custom knee bracing.

Since MSC's inception in 2021, custom knee bracing has been a huge part of Lori's practice, and she has now completed training Leonie to also provide custom brace fits for our lovely clients.

In the blog, you'll learn if custom knee bracing could be for you, a bit of anatomy, and it also features some photos of our Ossur braces so you know what to expect. And for those wondering, yes, you can put flames on your custom Ossur brace 🔥

Thanks so much to everyone who made it out for our recent presentation at the clinic as part of the events that went down this past weekend! Leonie and Lori presented once again their talk on the Anatomy of a Climber: Common Injuries & How to Stay on the Wall.

The smaller group this round offered a great opportunity for many enriching questions and time to try a few of the exercises our two physiotherapists mentioned during the presentation. We love engaging with the community in this way, and we can't wait to scheme up another presentation as we shift closer to the winter season! Happy "sending" temps everyone; good luck with your tendon gliding!

Back by popular demand, Léonie and Lori Anne will once again be presenting their climbing injury & prevention clinic. The presentation will be part of a series of events organized by happening this weekend (check out their page or get on their email list to learn more).

Anatomy of a Climber: Common Injuries & How to Stay on the Wall is a presentation that is suitable for climbers of all abilities to benefit from. It offers interesting, evidence-based, concurrent information to assist you in your climbing progression; from prehab to rehab.

We will have 30 spots available on a first-come first-served basis, and entry will be free for current members. The event kicks off at 7pm on Saturday, September 27th, and will run for roughly an hour. We hope to see you then!!
