Thanks for the tips Alexandra Black
3 ways to stay pain-free this fall 🌟 by focusing on your feet!
🌟 Pro-tip #1. Pull the insole out of your shoes. Look at the shape of it. Does the shape of the insole match the shape of your foot? Wearing fall footwear with a narrow toe box (pointy at the tip) is one of the number one contributors to pain and injury in the body. Squished toes can lead to a myriad of conditions including bunions, foot cramping, shin splints and ITB band syndrome, just to name a few. One of the simplest things you can do to stay pain-free this fall is to make sure that you are wearing footwear with a wide enough toe box (at least 80% of the time).
🌟 Pro-tip #2. Spread your toes with a silicone toe spacer. Wearing a toe spacer in the evenings for 20-30 minutes is a really simple way to improve your balance, maintain foot strength and avoid pain and injury. The alignment of your big toe is super important for propelling you forward. Your baby toe is responsible for ensuring adequate balance. Having excellent toe alignment not only increases comfort, but also improves your performance (even on the ski slopes...wink wink, nudge nudge)
🌟 Pro-tip #3. Release the tension in your feet. Your feet are like all terrain vehicles that get a significant workout everyday. Taking the time to release the tension in your feet using a spikey or firm ball is a great way to reduce cramping, eliminate calf tightness and even reduce stress. There are series of acupressure points in the bottom of the feet that stimulate the adrenal glands to release stress and tension! It's a win win and definitely worth doing a few times each week!
