Last night, we hosted our annual Abercrombie Volunteer Fire Department Appreciation Night. It was an evening dedicated to celebrating the firefighters who selflessly serve our community.

Our volunteer firefighters give their time, energy, and courage to protect our homes, families, and neighbours, whether they’re responding to a fire, a motor vehicle accident, or a storm. Their dedication never goes unnoticed, and we are grateful for everything they do.

Special thanks to the catering team at JConway Catering for preparing such a delicious meal.

Thank you Metalfab Fire Trucks. Our new pumper is in service and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Another custom Metalfab pumper is now in service in Abercrombie, Nova Scotia. 🚒

Designed in close collaboration with the department, this build reflects their operational needs, response area, and crew workflow, from pump configuration to storage layout.

Thank you to everyone who dropped off non-perishable items and cash donations for our Holiday Firefighter Food Drive. Together, we donated 346.4lbs of food and personal hygiene products!

All donations will go directly to support the Pictou West and River John food banks.

This initiative was part of a collaborative effort among the fire departments in Pictou, River John, Scotsburn, West River, and Caribou, along with the Toney River Community Hall.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Fall Pancake Breakfast this morning at the Abercrombie Volunteer Fire Department. We truly appreciate the community coming together, sharing a meal, and helping support our department and the work we do.

Congratulations to our 50/50 winner, Joyce MacIntosh! The winnings were presented by our Board President, Harvey Stiles.

Join us tomorrow for our Annual Fall Pancake Breakfast happening on Saturday, November 8 from 8am-11am! 🥞

We'll be serving pancakes, sausages, homemade baked beans, juice, tea, and coffee. Breakfast will be $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12 and kids under 5 eat for free.

Enjoy a meal with your family and friends while supporting the firefighters who serve our community! 🚒

Takeout will be available — we hope to see you there!
