Our Family 1st volunteers had a wonderful time handing out t-shirts to participants at the Valley Hike for Hospice today.

It was a great reminder of how this event brings our community and families together in support of such an important cause.

Supporting hospice care means championing compassion, dignity, and comfort when it matters most. Family 1st was proud to sponsor the event and stand alongside everyone who made today so special.

Is it time for new orthotics?

The lifespan of custom orthotics is usually about 2 years. Family 1st Medical’s Staff Podiatrist, Dr. Caroline Leverett, recommends getting them reassessed every 1-2 years to ensure they’re still providing the correct support.

Signs it’s time to replace your orthotics:
• You’re feeling pain or discomfort in your feet, hips, knees or back again
• The orthotics look worn or compressed
• Your activity level or weight has changed significantly

Many insurance plans cover new orthotics every 1 to 2 years; however, you should check with your individual insurance plan to determine your exact coverage.
