Keep the Heart Healthy Now and for Tomorrow! 🫀💪
The heart is not just something to worry about “when you’re older”. The habits that we build up now are shaping our heart’s health for life ❤️ Our health care professionals at Grace Mobile Care shared with us basic tips on how we can build a healthy heart right at the comfort of our own homes!
🥦 HEART-HEALTHY DIET: Choose to eat foods that are low in cholesterol, lower inflammation, and fuels your energy. Examples of these are fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, nuts, etc.).
🚭 AVOID SMOKING: Ci******es, vapes, ni****ne, and other to***co products are all causes of A LOT of illnesses, especially our one’s cardiovascular health. This habit damages blood vessels, increases blood pressure, and makes one’s heart work more than it usually has to – even while you’re young.
🩺 REGULAR CHECK-UPS: No one is “too young” for a visit to the doctor. Catch silent issues like high blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar changes early on and get the needed help for a lifestyle change. Silent symptoms can begin as early as your 20s and 30s. Prevention awareness is the real key for long-term health.
🚴 EXERCISE REGULARLY: The heart is a muscle and much like any other muscle, it gets stronger every time you move. Aim and look for consistent activities that you enjoy doing: park walking, sports, gym sessions, dancing, and other activities that keep the heart beating! It doesn’t matter if it’s 30 minutes a day or a few times a week, consistency matters more than intensity!
📖 MANAGE STRESS: Stress doesn’t just affect your mood – it drives up blood pressure, inflammation, and invites unhealthy coping habits. Adults juggle work, school, finances, and personal life all at the same time, so stress management and keeping it at a manageable level is essential. Try calming activities like yoga, journaling, and even good sleep hygiene.
Heart disease doesn’t start at 60, don’t wait until later to start caring for it. Move your body, eat smart, and manage stress – trust us, your future self will be thanking you! 🤗❤️
