On November 11th, we pause to honor and remember all members of the armed forces who served and sacrificed for our peace.
We observe the tradition of the poppy as a simple, powerful symbol of remembrance. We encourage you to join the nation in observing two minutes of silence at 11:00 AM. Lest We Forget.

Meet Wendy, co-owner of Nurse Next Door Burnaby. 💖
After over 50 years in the nursing field, Wendy took on the Nurse Next Door franchise because she saw an opportunity to fill a vital need in the community she calls home. Her passion for compassionate, in-home care drives everything we do, helping seniors and families live happier, healthier lives every day.

On November 11th, we observe Remembrance Day, a solemn day of commemoration for members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
The powerful tradition of wearing the Poppy was inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields," which described the bright red flowers growing on the battle-scarred landscapes of World War I.
The poppy now serves as a universal symbol with a profound double meaning:
Remembrance: For the fallen and the ultimate sacrifice they made for our peace and freedom.
Hope: A symbol of a life rebuilt after conflict.
We encourage you to wear yours and observe the moment of silence at 11:00 AM. Lest We Forget.

Happy Halloween season! 🎃
Making sure everyone in the family is part of the fun is what the holiday is all about. Even with mobility or health concerns, you can easily include your senior loved ones.
Here are 3 simple ways to bring the fun right to them:
The Candy Czar: Set up a comfy, safe chair near the door and let them handle handing out the treats. It gives them a wonderful sense of purpose and interaction.
The Creative Director: Involve them in decorating a small, indoor area. Simple, safe tasks like placing pre-carved pumpkins or hanging lightweight indoor decorations are perfect.
Cozy Movie Night: Host a themed movie marathon! Think blankets, hot cider, and non-scary classics. It’s a low-key, inclusive way to enjoy the evening together.
