🌿 This simple thyme balm is one of the most effective ways to support the chest — when prepared correctly.
Thyme has a long-standing role in traditional herbal care, particularly in preparations used around the chest during seasonal discomfort.
Here is a simple method to prepare a thyme-infused balm with proper proportions:
Ingredients
• Thyme (fresh or dried)
• 200 mL coconut oil
• 20 mL beeswax
Method
1. Place the thyme in a heat-safe container.
2. Add enough coconut oil to fully cover the herb.
3. Warm using a double boiler over very low heat for 40 minutes.
4. Strain carefully to remove the plant material.
5. While still warm, add 20 mL beeswax per 200 mL infused oil.
6. Stir until fully melted and fully incorporated.
7. Pour into a clean container and allow it to set undisturbed.
Why proportions matter
A 10:1 ratio (oil to beeswax) creates a balm that is:
• Soft enough to spread easily
• Structured enough to remain stable over time.
Small variations in this ratio will directly affect the final texture.
Tradicional topical use
Applied externally to:
• Chest area
• Upper chest / thymus area
• Soles of the feet
Use with slow, intentional massage and deep breathing.
Simple preparations can be powerful
when they are made with correct technique and intention.
