Ask The Expert...
Is embalming required in Ontario?

In Ontario, there is no requirement to embalm a body. The decision to embalm is a choice. A consumer may choose to have the body washed and dressed without embalming. However, embalming may be recommended to preserve a body between the time of death and time of visitation, burial or cremation.
