The Ontario Government has provided a new directive for Regulated Health Professionals that allows for a gradual re-open of some services. RMT’s were included in this directive and I would like to provide some clarity on what this means for me and my practice.
I want to clarify that this announcement was a general statement which means not all Regulated Health Professionals will be opening at the same time or at the same rate (or at all, for now).
At this time, our College, the CMTO has provided clear direction on limiting the number of in-person visits by prioritizing clients with essential care needs.
My first priority as an RMT is the health and safety of my clients, myself and my family, and to ensure that the benefits of receiving treatment outweigh the potential risks. I will continue to update you all further when I can foresee a potential date to begin reopening my books. At this time, I will be taking the next two weeks to stay up to date with the rate of infection in our community and the Province as a whole as I work hard to create a comprehensive back-to-practice plan and wait on mandatory PPE to arrive.
I will re-assess the risks associated with reopening my practice at that time. If an emergency occurs that puts you in a position of requiring urgent care, please email me. Otherwise, I will be reaching out to clients on a case-by-case basis to book appointments.
I want to thank you for remaining patient as I continue to work towards the implementation of these guidelines to ensure your safety, as it is my top priority. I will keep everyone posted when I have a definitive re-open date.
Please keep in mind I am still offering virtual appointments! This is an excellent alternative to in-person treatments while I gradually resume operations.
Thank you again for all of your support during this time, I look forward to reconnecting with my clients when I am able to. I hope everyone remains safe & healthy!
