Does anyone remember this place when we first moved in? One tiny reception desk, two treatment rooms, and beige as far as the eye could see...

Fast forward just over 3 years, and we’ve refreshed the space, grown into a team of 10, and now opened a satellite clinic.

It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has taught us something: who we are, what we value, and the kind of care we’re proud to bring to Niagara.

We’re grateful every single day for the people who have cheered us on, trusted us with their rehab journeys, and become part of our community along the way.

And guess what? We’re human, and we don’t always nail it. But every day we try to lead with empathy, positivity, and a genuine desire to make things better. We hope that comes through for our community, our clients, and our team.

Let's talk about vestibular challenges 💡

Dizziness and vertigo are often caused by issues in the vestibular system (the inner ear + brain pathways responsible for balance and head movement).

Infrared goggles help us assess this accurately. When we observe your eyes in complete darkness, it removes visual “compensation”. It reveals subtle eye reflexes (nystagmus) that point directly to the type of vestibular issue involved (like BPPV, vestibular hypofunction, or post-concussion imbalance).

Infrared goggles don’t treat dizziness on their own, but they allow us to clearly see what’s happening in real time so the correct treatment can be applied, leading to better outcomes and faster improvement.

MEET NIKKI NGUYEN

When we say Nikki is an OG of Team GNP, we mean an OHHH-GEEEE!

Nikki is one of the bright, welcoming faces you’ll meet here at Great North Physiotherapy at our front desk, and has been with us since the first year we opened.

She’s a Brock University graduate with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, and her passion for healthcare has taken her through a wide range of experiences, from working in diagnostic imaging clinics and long-term care to roles in pharmacy and medical administration.

Nikki blends her kinesiology background with her detail-oriented approach to support clients throughout their rehab journey. She’s known for her friendly energy, professionalism, and genuine care in helping every client feel supported and cared for.

Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find her on the go playing (or reffing) basketball, volleyball or badminton, hiking, snowboarding, or exploring new foods and cultures.

And big news - in January, Nikki will be heading to the UK to pursue her MScPT at the University of Hertfordshire! She has some exciting days ahead, and we are so incredibly proud of her.

A portion of the proceeds from our treatments this month will be donated in honour of the brave individuals who have served, and continue to serve, our great country.
