Let our take5 family take care of yours! or just need a break ? At take 5, our vision is to help give you the time you need and the relief of knowing your child is in good hands! We provide many unique and specialized programs for your of child or any age or need, and family, including 1:1 and 2:1 services, as well as specially designed day camps, PD day and after school programs. With over 30 years of combined experience in the mental health, developmental and behavioral sector, you can put your mind at ease knowing that your loved one(s) needs will be met while active, safe, and provided with nutritious food, all while having fun. Our goal is for your child to develop lifelong skills, build relationships, develop resilience and confidence while promoting independence.

Welcome, Katharine! We are thrilled to have you join the Take 5 family.

My name is Katharine, and I reside in lovely Crystal Beach, where I share my home with my Golden Retriever, Oliver, and two cheeky cats. I am excited to be part of Take 5 Respite Service's team. I bring several years of education and experience in supporting individuals in our community. I have an education in Early Childhood and enjoy working with kids of all ages and abilities. A highlight in my life has been my role as an In-School Mentor for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, where I mentored a student with special needs. My dog got to come along with me to school as my mentee's Reading Buddy! I have worked as a Respite Companion for those with dementia and as a PSW/Homemaker, providing safe, compassionate care and fostering independence. As a Friendly Visitor Volunteer, reducing isolation in living alone is important to me, and I provide fun, meaningful, and person-centered activities for older adults. I also volunteer as a Literacy Tutor in our community, supporting a person with exceptionalities with her learning needs in a fun and enjoyable way. In my spare time, you can find me painting, hiking, visiting a local conservation area, or along the beach with Oliver!

We're grateful to Lookout Ridge Retirement Home, Anchor Pointe Retirement, and Woodlands of Sunset for allowing us to share flowers with the remarkable women residing there, honoring their contributions as mothers and caregivers.

Each woman who received a flower was deeply moved, feeling valued and appreciated. We're thankful for our dedicated associates, clients, and volunteers, whose kindness and compassion are a powerful catalyst for positive change.
