Most people think burnout arrives all at once, but the body starts whispering long before it’s forced to shout.
Your nervous system is constantly communicating with you, and some of the earliest signs often show up in the body, not the mind.

We’re so excited to officially introduce Jodi Dennis, a valued member of the Balanced Bodyworks team serving the Niagara Region.

Jodi’s connection to animals and nature has been lifelong. Growing up surrounded by dogs, horses, and farm animals taught her early on about the quiet wisdom and energy that flow through all living beings.
As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, Jodi brings that same sense of calm and intuition into her work with children creating safe, nurturing spaces where they feel understood. Her passion for energy work naturally led her to become a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner, supporting both children and animals through gentle energetic balance.

Grounded in compassion and guided by intuition, Jodi believes healing begins with understanding energy and that when we nurture balance in both people and animals, we help them shine in their truest light.
We’re grateful to have her as part of the team as she continues to support people and dogs throughout Niagara through integrative, heart-centered care.

Your gut does far more than digest food, it communicates directly with your nervous system, immune system, and even your mood. When that connection falls out of balance, it doesn’t just show up in digestion… it shows up everywhere.

Fall is a season of transition, a time to ground, slow down, and prepare for the months ahead. With the change in season, our bodies naturally crave balance, and our integrative bodywork offers exactly that.

When we move through periods of change, the nervous system often shifts into a sympathetic “fight or flight” state. Over time, this can show up as muscle tension, fatigue, restless sleep, or even digestive discomfort. Bodywork helps guide the nervous system back toward a parasympathetic state - the “rest and repair” mode where the body can truly restore itself.

Sessions provide a space to pause, easing lingering summer tension, calming the mind, and helping you reconnect with your body. This intentional care is less about “fixing” and more about creating the conditions for balance and steadiness to return.

As we move into cooler weather, immune support becomes even more important. Bodywork encourages healthy circulation, lymph flow, and overall balance - all of which play a role in your body’s natural defense systems.

When the nervous system is relaxed and functioning more in a parasympathetic state, your immune system works at its best. Stress, tension, and constant “fight or flight” responses pull energy away from immunity. Sessions help shift the body out of that cycle, giving your system the space it needs to repair, restore, and defend.
