Winnipeg! I'm excited to see clients in person again!
If we haven't met before, you can head over to my website. I've provided some great Q+A here as well. Looking forward to connecting.
Q1. What is Holistic or Functional Nutritionist?
A Holistic Nutritionist, uses evidence-based, functional approach to identify patterns in your health that traditional models sometimes can overlook. Holistic Nutritionists are not just nutritionists, they also look at stress, hormones, digestion, and metabolism as an interconnected system. helping your body return to balance naturally and sustainably. The focus is on understanding why symptoms occur, not just what they are.
Q2. What’s the difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?
Dietitians are part of the medical system. They focus on treating diagnosed diseases using therapeutic diets and work under provincial healthcare regulations. They are a fantastic resource to add to your wellness team.
I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist Clinical Practitioner, trained through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, with additional designation as a Registered Nutritional Therapist. My work is functional and integrative. I focus on how the body’s systems (digestion, hormones, metabolism, and stress response) work together.
Q3. What is your approach?
I have ten years experience; my work started in pediatric holistic nutrition, and now focus primarily on supporting women's hormone, digestive and metabolic health. (PMS, PMDD, PCOS, Perimenopause, Menopause, Thyroid disorders, Insulin Resistance, SIBO, IBS, GERD.) I've held my own private practice in Northern Manitoba, (where most of you know me from!) and I've also worked in Integrative healthcare clinics alongside medical doctors, dieticians and other allied healthcare professionals. I currently see clients virtually across Canada.
I look at the why behind symptoms, using nutrition science, physiology, and root-cause analysis to help clients understand what their body is communicating.
Each plan includes specific nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations designed to support how the body functions every day.
I also play a strong role in women's health advocacy, helping women navigate the healthcare system, ask better questions, and feel supported in their overall care.
Q4. Can Kylie work with clients who are already seeing another practitioner?
Absolutely. Collaborative care is progressive and has the highest patient satisfaction. I often work collaboratively with doctors, nurse practitioners, naturopaths, and therapists when needed, or out of my scope of practice.
Q5. Are your services covered by insurance?
Aside from Health Spending Accounts, most insurance plans cover my services under “Nutritional Counselling” (It’s the employer’s discretion to include Registered Holistic Nutrition on the nutritional counselling insurance opt-in.)
Q6. Does Kylie focus only on nutrition, or also on lifestyle and supplements?
My approach is comprehensive and lifestyle-based, not just nutrition.
I look at how diet, sleep, stress, movement, and environment all affect hormonal and metabolic balance.
I use minimal supplement philosophy, only recommending what’s necessary and evidence-based.
All supplement recommendations are delivered through my private online dispensary, where each client receives their own secure portal. Inside the portal, clients can:
-View their personalized plan and supplement script.
-Access over 1,000 clinical-grade supplements
-Order directly for home delivery
The supplement plan is created and shared during the appointment.
