This is an issue I could talk about for days with every profession but especially with those of us in the caring professions. Work-related stress and burnout is not just an individual problem, its a complex response to witnessing painful events, a work system that is difficult with little reliable and consistent support, weak or damaging leadership, and your personal relationship with work/career as well as self care and personal mindset/meaning. We don't reduce this to a self care problem (hint: we need community care) and prescribe kale and yoga...we get real about the complexity and get into your humanity. 💫 Introducing Brooke’s Inside Voice 💫
A new space where I get to blend two lifelong loves: writing and the messy, beautiful work of being human.

💫When I was a kid, I dreamed of being an author. Writing has always been a personal strength — and an outlet for my inner world and creativity. A bit of a dreamer, I filled notebooks with stories, thoughts, and questions about people and the world at large.

Writing this way for the public — openly, reflectively, and in my own voice — feels deeply vulnerable. It will give a peek behind the private curtain of my work and my own thoughts on being human in this messy world. It’s one thing to write for myself; it’s another to share it with the world, especially for someone who’s mildly allergic to the whole “influencer” thing.

🐦‍⬛ Through Brooke's Inside Voice, I get to share this creative part of me through the lens of a therapist, a human, and someone still endlessly curious about connection, love, and the stories that shape us.
