Meet Sara, one of our intern counsellors in the final year of her Master of Counselling Psychology at Adler University.
Originally from Iran and raised in Saskatchewan, Sara brings a global perspective and a deep appreciation for culture, identity, and belonging to her counselling work. Her approach is warm, open, and culturally sensitive — creating a safe space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted.
Drawing from a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, Sara supports clients in exploring their inner worlds with curiosity and compassion. She values deep listening, emotional exploration, and helping people reconnect with resilience and possibility.
And because therapists are human too…
Unfortunately, she does love rewatching her favourite comfort shows (The Mindy Project, The Office, Bojack Horseman, Scream Queens), when clients accidentally swear in session, and saving recipes she’ll never make. She also loves booking last-minute overpriced workout classes, using too many metaphors and idioms in conversation, and when pets make surprise appearances during virtual sessions.
Sara offers both in-person and virtual sessions at a reduced intern rate. Learn more or book a session through the link in our bio.
