Holly Choi - Child Safety Educator Holly Choi discovered her passion for teaching and mentoring while training clinicians and their support staff in the medical software field for over 5 years.

Holly is the co-owner of Safe Beginnings First Aid - a Vancouver-area first-aid training company offering specialized courses focused on the infant and toddler years - www.safebeginnings.ca
Holly also volunteers as a Child Passenger Safety Technician. Following the birth of her first child in the summer of 2015, Holly certified as a First Aid Instructor with the Lifesaving Society BC/Yukon Branch. Shortly thereafter, Holly became co-owner of Safe Beginnings First Aid (www.safebeginnings.ca). Safe Beginnings First Aid currently educates over 250 caregivers and professionals each month with essential lifesaving skills for small children. With a keen interest in child safety, Holly certified as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) in October 2015 with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC). Since certification, Holly volunteers weekly in her community; helping caregivers gain confidence with their car seat installation and usage (www.saferseats.ca). Holly is currently an Instructor Candidate (IC) with CPSAC.

And just like that, it's December! Here's a quick holiday safety tip regarding Christmas stockings and toddlers:

⚠️ Weighted mounts/hooks on a mantle can be very hazardous to small children; as they're known to pull on the stocking and have the mount fall onto them.

☑️ We keep our stockings empty until the night of Christmas, and place them under the tree on the tree skirt. On Christmas morning, these will be accessible to our kids as they're already on the floor, and it avoids them pulling them down from a higher area.
