Hello! My name is Raya, physiotherapist turned integrative practitioner.

This 1-year certification teaches you the transformational modality, The Lumina Method™. This modality is a whole-person, root healing approach, that clears dysfunction from the body and restores harmony.

This training includes both online and in-person lessons.

Within this training you will also receive:

✅ Foundation Setting support to prepare yourself, your space and your clients for session

✅ Business fundamentals, including workshops on financial literacy and cash flow planning

✨A Thursday tool✨

I am continuing with a scoliosis theme this week!⚕️

Propping is a game changer for scoliosis.

Placing a rice bag or rolled face cloth under your curve(s) helps to level out your trunk. This positions it into a neutral position.

I recommend propping for any exercise that is done lying on your back.

✨A holistic approach to scoliosis✨

I became a fully certified Schroth therapist in 2017.

During that time, I dove into the deep end, absorbing as much as I could about scoliosis and the spine.

And in all of that, I learned very little as to how to support the emotions that often accompany this discovery.

The best practice support for scoliosis is ✨The Schroth Method✨.

A method involving spinal traction, breathwork and specific muscle activation as a way to stabilize the spine in a more neutral position.

Yet, this method does not support the emotions that often occur for the individual and their support system.

My approach to the treatment of scoliosis has evolved greatly since it began.

In addition to offering support for the physical body with The Schroth Method and curve specific bodywork, I now integrate in various holistic practices to honour one’s emotions.

✨Emotions impact the physical body.✨

And my approach to offering support for an individual is much more then just their physical body.

I now approach scoliosis through the lens of embodiment.

Integrating in Conscious Connected Breathwork, mindfulness practices and various tools and techniques to meet an individual where they need it most on their wellness journey.

These sessions are customized for each person based on their unique spine, how they are feeling, their intentions, how they desire to feel and what they desire to do in their life.

✨Scoliosis Awareness✨

I have supported countless people navigating their unique journey with scoliosis.

✨Have you ever been told that you have a curve in your back?

✨Perhaps you have noticed one shoulder sits higher than the other.

✨Or that your pants sit differently on your hips.

💫

Scoliosis impacts the spine, starting with one single vertebrae.

As the vertebrae begins to grown in a wedged shape, it begins to impact the spinal segments above and below.
As a result, the spine begins to rotate.

There can be one, two or even three curves present.

And it is likely more common than you think.

✨It impacts approximately 2-3% of the population.✨

Often times scoliosis is discovered in children and teens. Yet, I have worked with numerous adults who are diagnosed later in life.

And the good news is that there is something that can be done to change how you feel even when you are done growing!

Just because you are navigating scoliosis it does not mean you are destined for life of discomfort!

A diagnosis involves a few things:

⚕️A positive Adam’s Forwards Bent test: bending forward with ones hands and feet together while observing the symmetry in the back and pelvis from behind.

⚕️A scoliometer reading of 5 degrees or more. A scoliometer (swipe to see!) measures how much rotation is present in the spine. More than 5 degrees is considered positive for scoliosis.

⚕️A full spine x-ray with a Cobb angle (the size of the curve) greater than 10 degrees.

If you are curious if you have scoliosis, the assessment is simple and accurate. It can be done in person or online.

And, I do not recommend and x-ray for everyone.

I spent most of my life not embodied.

My mind was over active, my body was tired from over training and hard work was my glorified lifestyle.

And I am grateful.

My journey to embodiment brought me here.🦋

✨Hello, my name is Raya.✨

I am the creator of Drift and Align.

I am a holistic practitioner, blending my Physiotherapy modalities and knowledge with holistic techniques, tools and wisdom.

My career began as a conventional physiotherapist, spending the majority of that time focused on the treatment of scoliosis and other spine conditions as a Schroth practitioner. And I LOVED it.

Yet, during that time it became clear to me that when the focus is only on the physical body all aspects of wellness are not being considered.

Then breathwork found me. It opened the door to a new lens in which I viewed disfunction in the body and SO much more.

My life began to transform in unexpected ways with my deep dive into becoming a breathwork facilitator.

And I began to experience and witness how lasting changes occur when we step out of the conventional model of care into the transformational space of wellness.

When the root of the disfunction is cleared from the body, magic happens.

I have a deep love for supporting others as they find their way home to themselves.

One way I do this is by creating a transformational space, one that is held in love, for those who desire to learn more and connect deeper with all aspects of themselves - mind, body and spirit.

I also love hosting breathwork ceremonies, integrating in my priestess learnings, as a way to share wisdom in community and transform together.🌹
