Dry Needling & Shockwave Therapy — what’s the difference? ✨
Dry needling and shockwave therapy are two powerful tools used by physiotherapists to treat pain, tension, and stubborn injuries — but they work in very different ways.
Dry needling uses a thin, sterile needle inserted into tight or irritated muscle tissue (trigger points) to help release tension, improve blood flow, and reset dysfunctional muscle patterns. It’s especially helpful for muscle knots, chronic tightness, and movement restrictions.
Shockwave therapy uses high-energy sound waves applied externally to stimulate healing in injured tissue. It helps increase circulation, break down scar tissue, and encourage the body’s natural repair process — making it great for tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, and long-standing injuries.
Both treatments aim to reduce pain, restore movement, and get you back to doing what you love — faster and more effectively 💥
These therapies are performed by our physiotherapist Max Insa, who tailors each treatment to your body and your goals.
