Anxious attachment and the need for reassurance 💕

Have you ever heard the saying, “an avoidant will walk out the door during a fight. An anxious attached will walk out and wait on the other side of the door till the other person comes checks on them”?

When we have an axious attachment, sometimes our need for reassurance can seem bigger than life. But reassurance is a natural part of connection. Its saying “I need time with you” “are you there for me” “can I rely on you to be there”.

But its how we navigate reassurance that grounds us or activates us.

August is over half way gone…

This summer has been a season of learning for me as a therapist and as a human being. 🌱

I’ve been reminded that healing isn’t linear, that relationships are both our deepest source of joy and sometimes our hardest lessons, and that slowing down is just as important as moving forward.

What stood out most is how often the lessons I witness in the therapy room mirror the lessons in my own life: about trust, vulnerability, boundaries, and the courage it takes to show up authentically.
