Paterson Wellness Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. Supporting people who are ready for their life to change in a meaningful way. Welcome!

Specializing in stress, anxiety, and workplace issues. Free consult / on-line sessions available. I’m Judith Paterson, a registered social worker and psychotherapist dedicated to guiding individuals toward balance, confidence, and calm. My professional journey has been unique. After spending a significant portion of my career as a business leader, I transitioned into the field of mental wellness, driven by a passion for helping others navigate their personal and professional challenges. As a certified clinical ADHD services provider, I specialize in supporting clients living with adult ADHD. Additionally, my background as a business leader enables me to effectively assist clients experiencing workplace issues. This combination of expertise provides me with a unique perspective on both ADHD and workplace dynamics, allowing me to address the specific challenges in each area effectively. I employ a light-hearted and collaborative approach to therapy, utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and structured problem-solving. My goal is to support clients in enhancing their mental wellness and creating meaningful, fulfilling lives. I offer online counseling services to clients across Ontario, making support accessible no matter where you are. I’m here to help you find solutions and achieve your goals.

I first heard these steps by anthropologist Angeles Arrien years ago, and it’s stayed with me. She described it as a simple framework for living and working with integrity. I often come back to it when I feel overwhelmed or uncertain. It helps me to focus on my next step. This is not an exact quote but how I remember her step descriptions and a brief summary I find helpful.

Happy Blue Monday 😊

Blue Monday is supposedly the most depressing day of the year. But the real story is that this idea didn’t come from science - it came from an advertising campaign for a British travel company trying to sell winter vacations.

A “formula” was invented to combine things like weather, debt, and failed New Year’s resolutions to arrive at the most depressing date, usually the third Monday of January.

There is no scientific evidence that this day is any more depressing than any other. Blue Monday is just a marketing myth that has taken on a life of its own.
