Type 1 diabetes - is an autoimmune disease where the pancreas doesn’t produce insulin or produces very little insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps blood sugar enter the cells in the body for energy. Without insulin, blood sugar builds up in the bloodstream, causing high blood sugar levels. This can lead to a range of symptoms and complications if left untreated.
