Glen Abbey Vision Centre provides comprehensive, family friendly, eye care in Glen Abbey and the gre Comprehensive eye exams are just the beginning.

Glen Abbey Vision Centre continues to grow since opening in 1985 and happily offers a full range of services for patients of all ages. Glen Abbey Vision Centre offers full spectacle services; a selection of glasses and sunglasses for your convenience; a wide variety of contacts lenses and fittings; ocular hygiene products; dry eye disease therapy; laser surgery co-management; myopia control therapy; digital imaging of the retina to monitor the ongoing health of your eye; OCT (mapping of the inside of the eye) and visual field testing. Our doctors and expertly trained staff are here for your vision needs, helping in the treatment and prevention of eye disease. We have a wide selection of prescription glasses and sunglasses and many eye care products. We carry and fit only the highest quality eye care products that we stand behind. Eyes examinations should start at age 6 months, with the next exam at age 3 (or during the JK year) and yearly thereafter. Glen Abbey Vision Centre is a provider of the “Eye See, Eye Learn” program, which provides a complimentary pair of eyeglasses for children in JK that are in need. Annual eye checkups for children are essential to rule out any vision-related learning disabilities. Adults should be seen for eye exams every one to two years - with more routine checkups for those with health conditions that can directly affect the eyes. Seniors are at greater risk for eye health issues so annual examinations are highly recommended for adults over 65 years old.

Last weekend we celebrated the holidays with a cooking class and dinner. Not only was it so much fun, we made ourselves some delicious pasta and enjoyed some quality time together. From the GAVC family, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of participating in a local toy drive and provided post game refreshments to the U12 AA Oakville Rangers team we sponsor. It was wonderful to support such a meaningful cause while spending time at the arena, reconnecting with familiar faces, and meeting new members of our community. We wish the Rangers continued success throughout their season!

Spring is (slowly) approaching. As we look forward to warmer weather and longer days, we thought we’d share some staff insights as to what brings light and warmth to our clinic. We asked Dr. Yang and Dr. Khela today “How do you show up for your patients on a daily basis?” Dr. Yang: “I focus on being attentive, understanding and being a good listener… and of course always smile” Dr. Khela: “I try to imagine my patients are a family member/loved one and think of how I would want them to be cared for” Just some small examples of why the Doctors at GAVC are always caring and putting your health needs above all else. If you have not had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Yang or Dr. Khela, we encourage you to book an eye exam with them!
