Today, we said our final farewell to Captain Stuart “Stu” Campbell, Badge #166. 🕊️
Today’s honour guard, procession, and service were a powerful reminder of the impact Stu had, not only as a firefighter, but as a mentor, leader, colleague, and friend. The turnout spoke volumes. Stu was deeply respected, widely admired, and loved.
Throughout his career with the Oakville Fire Department, Stu embodied what it meant to serve with integrity, humility, and heart. Whether on shift, in the Hazmat world, or quietly mentoring others, he gave his time and knowledge generously and without hesitation.
Above all else, Stu was devoted to his family. Our thoughts remain with them, whose strength and grace were felt by everyone today. We also hold close Stu’s friends and all those whose lives were shaped by his guidance and kindness.
We extend our sincere thanks to the fire departments from near and far who stood with us today in honour of Stu. A special thank you to Mississauga Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 1212, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, Burlington Professional Firefighters Association IAFF 1552 and Burlington Fire Department for covering on-shift Oakville Fire firefighters, allowing our members the opportunity to attend today’s service and honour our brother.
Stu’s legacy will live on in the brothers and sisters he trained and worked alongside, and the lives he helped protect.
Rest easy, Captain. Your watch is complete. We’ll take it from here. 🚒🖤
