Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs

Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs Helping People with Aphasia Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs utilize a life participation model approach.

Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs are social communication programs for adults living with aphasia and other acquired communication disorders. Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs involve both small and large group activities, foster bonds between stroke survivors, educate the community about aphasia, and provide support to family members. Through group therapy, H-PCAP provides people living with aphasia with a more natural communication setting, where they can apply and practice communication skills learned in individual therapy. H-PCAP strives to enhance the life participation of its members who are affected by aphasia by:
• Improving communication skills
• Providing access to information in aphasia-friendly formats
• Supporting caregivers
• Spreading community awareness of aphasia
• Reaching out to those with aphasia, reducing isolation and depression. With communication groups in Burlington, Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, and Milton. Please contact our team for more information at 905-875-8474.

When you know the signs of stroke, you can help someone get the emergency care they need.

When it comes to stroke, every second matters — BE FAST.
