Half the population will experience perimenopause and menopause. Yet for decades it has remained one of the least talked about stages of women’s health. That’s why I’m grateful to see events like the upcoming screening of The M Factor 2: Before the Pause – Perimenopause and panel discussion happening here in Okotoks. Creating spaces where women can learn, ask questions, share experiences, and access reliable information is incredibly important.

Whether you’re personally experiencing this stage of life, supporting a partner, friend, colleague, or simply wanting to better understand women’s health, this event is an opportunity to expand knowledge and bring this conversation into the open.

📅 Event: Screening – The M Factor 2: Before the Pause – Perimenopause
📍 March 19: 7 - 9pm Okotoks Cinemas

Thank you to the organizers, Active Balance Health Centre, for helping bring this important topic to the forefront and creating opportunities for women to learn, connect, and support one another.

Knowledge is empowering and conversations like this help ensure women have the information they need to advocate for their health.

🚨 New Blog Alert 🚨

Once again, we have uploaded 2 new blogs at once, both coincide with our recent events!

The first, written by Dr. Breanna Forry, discusses the value of acupuncture during a woman’s cycle. Whether that be a difficult period, influencing fertility or navigating through menopause - Dr. Breanna has the answers for you!

The second features our naturopathic doctor, Dr. Annie Cannon as she uncovers the stigma behind mid-life weight gain. If you’ve reached your 40s or 50s and everything feels off… you are not alone. She explains why this happens and what actually works for weight loss.

✨ Our third talk in the Women’s Health Series is here - and yes, we’re bringing it ‘down there’ ✨

Menopause is growing in research more than ever, but when it comes to what’s happening below the belt, the conversation often stops.

Let’s bring that conversation forward and commit to a better understanding of our bodies and our symptoms.

🌿 April 9, 2026 - The Great Pause: Menopause Below the Belt
Bladder leaks?
Pelvis pressure?
Changes in libido?
We’re told it’s normal, yet most are told it’s just something they have to live with.

It’s not.

Join Pelvis Floor Physiotherapist, Leona Ham, for an evening of real talk, myth-busting and practical tools.
✨ Learn what hormonal changes mean for your pelvic health
✨ Understand what’s normal - and what’s treatable
✨ Ask the why’s, when’s, what’s and how’s
✨ Leave informed, empowered and supported

Let’s keep the conversation going.

🌿 March 26, 2026 - The Great Pause: Mid-Life Weight Gain
If your body suddenly feels different in your 40s or 50s — tighter jeans, softer belly, creeping scale — you’re not alone.
And it’s not about willpower.
Menopause weight gain is driven by biology: hormones, muscle mass, metabolism, insulin resistance, and long-term metabolic health.

In this science-informed session with Dr. Annie Cannon, you’ll learn:
• Why metabolism changes
• How to calculate protein & fibre needs
• How to estimate energy expenditure
• The link between menopause, insulin resistance & heart disease
• Evidence-based naturopathic strategies for metabolic health & longevity
If you’re tired of guessing and want clarity, this one’s for you.

🎟 Tickets for both events available on Eventbrite or message us for a link!

An evening of education, honesty & laughter. Because you deserve support, answers, and a community that gets it.
