✨ When is the best time to book acupuncture for fertility support

If you’re trying to convince, timing your treatments alongside your cycle can make a big difference

Ideally, it is recommended coming in 3x per cycle to support each key phase

🌱 Follicular (after period) - supports follicle growth and nourishes your body as it prepares to release an egg

🥚 Ovulation - encourages smooth egg release

🌙 Luteal (after ovulation) - focuses on supporting implantation and creating a warm, stable environment

🩸 Menstruation - also a powerful time to come in, especially if you are experiencing pain, clotting, or irregular flow

Treatments may help regulate the cycle, and improve overall reproductive health

Consistently is key when it comes to fertility support 🤍
While there are never any guarantees with fertility care, aligning treatments with your cycle can help create the best possible environment for conception 🌿

If you’re unsure where to start, I’m always happy to guide you based on your unique cycle

Hi everyone 👋🏻 welcome!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Brea

I’m a Doctor of Acupuncture, a proud boy mom, and someone deeply passionate about fertility, menstrual cycle health, and women’s wellness as a whole

This page is a space for education, shared learning, and giving back to the community 🤍

I’ll be sharing insights from my own experiences, things I’m continuing to learn, and supportive information for anyone navigating their fertility or hormone health journey

Over the past year, I’ve discovered just how much I love supporting women trying to conceive - whether through timed in*******se or medicated journeys like IUI and IVF

My own path into acupuncture began with fertility and hormone struggles, and I truly fell in love with how powerful and supportive this medicine can be

I’m currently practicing in Okotoks, and if you’re looking for support or guidance along your journey, I would be so honored to be part of it ✨

Let talk the menstrual cycle…TCM edition 💁🏼‍♀️

Isn’t it wild that women’s hormones fluctuate on a 28 day cycle comparative to men who fluctuates on 24 hours?

That is a crazy significant physiological difference

In TCM, the menstrual cycle is understood in four phases, each with different treatment goals

🌕 Menstruation
➡️ This phase is all about letting go - during this time its important to support a smooth discharge of blood, soothing pain, and preventing any stagnation
➡️ Goal - complete bleed with no clots, cramping, or struggle

🌖 Follicular phase
➡️ Now this is the time to rebuild and nourish - this phase supports egg development, in the follicular phase focus is shifted to supporting kidney yin, blood, and strengthening the spleen to ensure proper absorption and energy

🌗 Ovulation
➡️ Ovulation is all about movement - supporting qi and blood circulation to help flow and release smoothly

🌘Luteal phase
➡️ Depending on a women’s goal to conceive or not - this is the time to tonify yang, support liver, calming the Shen, and harmonizing Ren and Chong vessels

TCM recognizes that each phase of the cycle has distinct physiological needs and demands - supporting the body appropriately throughout the month can improve cycle regularity, reduce symptoms, and promote overall health

POV: your breakfast is supporting your qi 🪡🍵

In TCM terms
➡️ Figs (Wu Hua Guo) — sweet and neutral, nourish yin, moisten dryness, support the lungs and intestines
➡️ Matcha — bitter and cooling, clears heat, moves qi, calms the Shen

This is acupuncture without needles
➡️ Supporting balance
➡️ Encouraging flow

Letting the body feel safe enough to heal - sometimes medicine looks like a treatment room, sometimes it looks like breakfast in bed
