🎉65 Days of Celebration - Day 58🎉

Today we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible humans who guide Mountain View Seniors’ Housing. Our Board of Directors is proudly comprised of municipal elected officials from across our region — Olds, Didsbury, Carstairs, Cremona, Sundre, and Mountain View County.

Their commitment to serving our seniors and our communities is truly extraordinary. MVSH is an in-depth organization with complex operations, significant budgets, and far-reaching responsibilities. Yet our board approaches this work with integrity, respect, and unwavering dedication.

Over the decades, many different representatives have served on our board as elections bring new faces to the table. Each one has contributed their time, wisdom, and passion to ensure our lodges and programs continue to support the well-being of nearly 500 clients across the county.

To our past and present board members — thank you. Your leadership shapes the homes, services, and care that so many seniors rely on. We are grateful for everything you do.

🎉65 Days of Celebration - Day 57 - A Tribute to Our Communities🎉

Today, we want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the communities of...
Town of Sundre, Town of Didsbury, Town of Olds, Town of Carstairs, Village of Cremona, and Mountain View County, Alberta

In Alberta, municipalities collect property taxes, and a very small portion of those taxes is directed to support our lodge program. While this funding is mandated by the Province of Alberta, municipalities act as the conduit between local taxpayers and organizations like MVSH that provide essential services to seniors.

💡 DID YOU KNOW?
Even though municipalities collect the funds through property taxes, the money comes directly from local taxpayers and is passed through to support seniors in their own communities. And while it represents only a very small share of your property taxes, it has a big impact, helping us provide meals, activities, housekeeping, safety, and a caring home environment for local seniors.

Thank you to our local communities for the role you play in supporting seniors close to home. Your community’s investment helps create safe, meaningful, and connected living spaces for the people who helped shape these towns.

Mount View Lodge enjoyed a fantastic evening at their annual Christmas Bingo last night, featuring special guest, Town of Olds Councillor, Chad Taylor! Councillor Taylor called bingo, presented prizes, and visited with residents throughout the evening. It was a great night with wonderful prizes and lots of holiday spirit. 🎅🎄

Thank you to Councillor Taylor for spending time with our residents during this busy time of year! 💙

It’s been a festive week at Chinook Winds Lodge! Our residents lovingly packed holiday shoeboxes and were delighted by a special visit from the Carstairs Library kiddos. We even had a visit from Santa! ⛄🎅🏻

We’ve recognized them once already during this campaign, but they deserve to be celebrated again — and again, and again. Our staff are the heart of Mountain View Seniors’ Housing. Their compassion, dedication, and incredible commitment are the reasons we’re able to do what we do and support as many Albertans as we do.

They are truly the best kind of people. 💙 From providing quality service and comfort, to creating joy and connection, to showing up every day with purpose, our team makes all the difference. We couldn’t be more proud of them, and we are endlessly grateful for all they bring to our residents, our lodges, and our communities.

🎉65 Days of Celebration - Day 54🎉

As we wind down the year and near the end of our 65 Days of Celebration campaign, we’ve found ourselves reflecting on all we’ve accomplished together, and looking ahead with excitement for what’s to come. With that in mind, we have a few heartfelt “thank yous” to share…

First and foremost, we want to thank our residents! Just look at these smiling faces. While we can't share photos of everyone who calls our lodges home, we want every resident to know how deeply we appreciate the impact they make on our communities and on our staff each and every day.

Our residents are the reason these “buildings” truly become homes. If you’ve ever stepped inside Aspen Ridge Lodge, Chinook Winds Lodge, Mount View Lodge, or Sundre Seniors' Supportive Living, you’ve felt it... The unique warmth, the welcoming energy, and the sense of belonging that fill each space. That atmosphere exists because of the people who live there. 💙

To all our residents: thank you for the trust you place in Mountain View Seniors' Housing, for your humour that keeps us smiling, for your compassion that inspires us, and for everything you bring to our lodge communities. You are the heart of our homes.

What a treat for our residents at Chinook Winds Lodge yesterday! Did you catch little "Nugget" on the news last night? Help Alberta Wildies Society brought this sweet little rescue mini-pony for a visit after spending the last few weeks nursing her back to health!

Nugget, the seven-month-old mini horse, visited seniors at Chinook Winds Lodge in Carstairs, Alta., on Thursday.
