Our collaborative health care team's Goal is to help you, your performance and Life Take Flight! Through experience she realized many people have pain that cannot be explained. As such, Christal turned to Osteopathy to find answers. Christal completed her studies in Osteopathy upon successful defending of her thesis on Post Concussion Syndrome. Osteopathy is a manual therapy relying on palpation skills to find and address the issues within the body that prevents health from expressing itself. It utilizes various modalities such as myofascial release, visceral manipulation, muscle energy, osteo-articular mobilizations etc. in order to achieve optimum health. Feeling stuck in a cycle of stress and overwhelm? Ending your day in front of the tv or scrolling on your phone may feel like you’re unwinding and resetting, but it’s really just distracting.

To truly reset your nervous system you can:
🌱 Take a few minutes to slow your breathing, close your eyes and give a deep 4 second inhale followed by a slow 6 second exhale, and repeat.

🌱 Invite some gentle movement like a short walk or light stretching. This helps release built up stress in your body and signifies to your body that the stress cycle is complete.

🌱 Embrace the quiet; remove distractions and enter into a moment of mindfulness, taking this time to do either of the above or take a minute to journal or reflect.

The key in all of this is to ensure you’re focus is on whichever of these activities you choose, shifting focus to one thing will bring your body and mind into alignment, essentially telling your mind that you’re okay, and all around you is safe and secure (eliminating that fight or flight feeling!) 🧘🏼‍♀️

In a world where alerts, feeds, and notifications are always within reach, our attention is constantly being pulled in a million directions. That can leave us feeling stressed, restless, and disconnected from our own center.

Christal shared some practical ways to reclaim calm without disappearing from life entirely:

💭 Set boundaries with screens and notifications
💭 Schedule intentional check-ins with news and messages
💭 Protect your sleep and reduce evening screen stimulation
💭 Swap digital scrolling for real human connection

Small shifts like these can help your nervous system settle, reduce overwhelm, and bring a little more quiet back into your day 🧘‍♀️

We have loved having Colleen join the Take Flight crew! Her expertise in massage therapy and lymphatic health has been a wonderful gift.

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to help move excess fluid through the body, which may reduce swelling, ease discomfort, and support the healing process. It works with your body’s natural fluid system, helping reduce puffiness, encourage circulation, and activate the “rest and relax” response in your nervous system. Many people find it deeply calming, leaving them feeling lighter, less bloated, and more at ease.
