A Legacy of Giving in Our Community

We are incredibly grateful to share that long-time Oliver resident Gudrun Moore has generously gifted $60,000 to Desert Sun Counselling & Resource Centre, creating the Jim and Gudrun Moore Legacy Fund through the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen.

This permanent endowment will provide ongoing support for local programs and services — helping individuals and families in the South Okanagan not just today, but for generations to come.

Gudrun’s wish was simple: to give back locally and help others in our community thrive. Her generosity is truly inspiring.

Want to make a lasting impact too?
You can contribute directly to the Jim and Gudrun Moore Legacy Fund or explore setting up your own named legacy fund to honour a loved one. Every contribution — big or small — helps strengthen our community for the future.

How to Give:
To make a contribution to the Jim and Gudrun Moore Legacy Fund or to learn more about legacy giving, please contact us at 250-498-2538 or visit www.desertsuncounselling.ca

💛 THANK YOU, SOUTH OKANAGAN! 💛

Because of you — our incredible community, talented chefs, event sponsors, generous donors, and supportive local businesses — this year’s Empty Bowls & Baskets Fundraiser raised an amazing $72,795!

This community never ceases to amaze us. You continue to show what’s possible when neighbours support neighbours and come together to care for people right here at home. We are so proud to live and work in a place where compassion, generosity, and kindness shine so brightly.

Bringing back the Empty Bowls Kick-Off Event this year was a huge success, and we are already looking forward to building on that momentum for an even bigger and better event next year!

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for standing with Desert Sun and helping us continue to serve individuals and families in need across our communities.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year filled with health, hope, and connection. 💛
