The path forward begins with connection.

I’m Taylor Ormiston, a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Salmon Arm, and I blend EMDR therapy, the attachment-centred wisdom of horses, and traditional talk-therapy to help you move forward with clarity and calm.

My trauma-informed, somatic, and mindfulness-based approach is gentle, powerful, and grounded in experiential healing. Experiential therapies are evidence-based and can open doors that traditional talk therapy alone may not. My practice is person-centred and attachment-based, drawing on CBT, ACT, and art therapy to meet clients exactly where they are, uncover their innate strengths, and walk alongside them toward lasting, holistic healing.

📍 Serving Salmon Arm and virtually across BC | Individuals • Families • Youth

✅ Safe • Confidential • Trauma-Aware Now accepting new clients.

There's more than just horses here. . .

While not as often formally incorporated into therapeutic processes (compared to dogs and horses), humans can form mutually beneficial bonds with all types of four-legged.

Why Animals? Because of the Human-Animal Bond Theory!

Animals are shown to provide social support to their human companions, and greater social support leads to greater overall wellbeing.

The effect generated in interacting with an animal is bi-directional, affecting the physical and emotional states of both the animal and human as well as the general overall wellbeing of each.

This idea of reciprocity is integral in the human-animal bond concept and has pro-social implications that are key for healthy human attachment.
