Our Diabetes Education Centre here at Headwaters provides comprehensive diabetes education and ongoing care for children, youth, adults and families who are at risk for, or living with, diabetes.
Our Diabetes Education Centre is made up of a multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses (CDE), Registered Dietitians (CDE), Social Workers and physicians.
To date, our team helps more than 600 adults and 55 children who receive diabetes care at Headwaters Health Care Centre.

Happy Perioperative Nurses Week!
Our team of perioperative nurses provide specialized care before, during and after surgical procedures. As a key part of the care team, perioperative nurses ensure their patients’ safety, comfort and quality of care throughout surgical operations. They collaborate as a team with surgeons and medical personnel, while also keeping family members and loved ones informed of the procedure.

It’s Take Your Kids to Work Day!🩺
Today, we welcomed 16 special guests to our Take Your Kids to Work Day!
It was a great opportunity for the students to capture a behind-the-scenes look at what their family members do each day here at Headwaters, and what goes on day-to-day at a hospital.🏥 The students participated in several activities including a tour of the hospital, a stimulation of CPR and ventilation techniques with Manny the Mannequin, and a mini-surgical lab led by Dr. Grace Wang.

It's Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) Week!
Our Medical Radiation Technology team plays a vital role in patient care at our hospital. From day to day, our medical radiation technologists work across multiple imaging methods, including X-ray, CT, nuclear medicine, and MRI, which help support accurate diagnosis and timely treatment for patients.
Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT) play a critical role in our healthcare system, performing more than 30 million medical imaging exams each year across the country. Headwaters Health Care Centre is a medium-sized 73-bed acute and complex continuing care hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as an Emergency Department with 24/7 coverage.
The new Eva Heiny Ambulatory Care Wing is home to high-demand clinics, services and programs such as dialysis, chemotherapy, minor procedures, orthopaedics and plastic surgery. Provincial Partnerships such as the Ontario Breast Screening Program and the Mississauga Halton Regional Cancer Program offer expanded outpatient services to residents, close to home.
Headwaters also enjoys a unique service agreement with Dufferin County Paramedic Services, who have been serving this region for over 50 years. Accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada, Headwaters has a team of more than 700 dedicated health care professionals, physicians and volunteers.
Located in Orangeville, Headwaters serves the communities and townships within Dufferin County and Caledon.
Headwaters Health Care Centre’s campus of care is home to a unique award winning collection of 12 distinct gardens and water features, called The Friendship Gardens. With over 400 trees, designed and maintained by a group of 20 active volunteers and supported by community donations, the Friendship Gardens has been created for year-round peace and enjoyment.
