You made it through the 10 darkest weeks of the year.
That matters. 🌅
Rest counts. Survival counts. Neurodivergent resilience doesn’t have to look like productivity.
Be gentle with yourself as the light slowly returns.✨

💙 Blue Monday Tips for Neurodivergent Minds 🌟

Feeling low today? Here are 5 gentle ways to lift your mood:

1️⃣ Sensory Breaks – Give yourself quiet time, use weighted blankets, fidget tools, or calming music.
2️⃣ Movement Your Way – Walk, stretch, or dance in your space—whatever feels good for your body and brain.
3️⃣ Connect on Your Terms – Text a friend, join an online group, or spend time with supportive people who understand you.
4️⃣ Creative Outlet – Draw, write, build, or craft—expressing yourself can soothe the mind.
5️⃣ Routine & Predictability – Even small routines or checklists can reduce stress and help you feel grounded.

In my latest article for the NVLD Project, From Visibility to Voice: What Alice Wong Taught Us About NVLD and Disability Justice, I reflect on how disability justice leader Alice Wong has deeply influenced the way we understand advocacy, voice, and belonging and what her work teaches us about centering NVLD lived experience.

Crip Time Is Real Time 🕘

At Beautiful Minds, we honour crip time the flexible, non-linear way many disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent people move through the world.

Healing, learning, and living don’t follow ableist schedules.
Some days are slower. Some steps are smaller.
That doesn’t make them less meaningful.👣

In an ableist culture obsessed with speed and productivity, crip time reminds us:

Slower is not lesser.

Pauses are not failures.

Forward is forward even on crip time.
Every step counts. 💚

✨ Sending Love to Those Who… ✨

January isn’t always full of motivation, goals, or fresh starts and that’s okay!

This is for the ones who:
🌱 Feel behind in a world that never slows down
💭 Are tired of starting over
🧠 Are running on low battery
💔 Made it through another year without closure
🌊 Feel pressure instead of “new year energy”

If you’re here, reading this, you’ve already done something brave. 💛
And that’s enough for today.

✨ Sending love to every neurodivergent mind, tired heart, and soft soul navigating a heavy world.

✨ Happy New Year!✨

As we step into this new chapter, I’m holding space for both gratitude and hope.🙏
For everything this past year taught me.
For the strength it took to get through it.
And for the possibilities waiting ahead 🤍

To my fellow neurodivergent souls:
You don’t need to become someone new this year.❤
You are already enough.❤
You are already worthy.❤
And you are allowed to move forward at your own pace.🥰

Here’s to a year of healing, creativity, connection, and beautifully neurodivergent minds 💫

Happy New Year from Beautiful Minds! 🤍✨

✨ 2025 Reflection | So Much to Be Grateful For ✨

As this year comes to a close, I’m feeling incredibly thankful for the growth, learning, and meaningful moments that shaped Beautiful Minds in 2025. 🧠💫

This year I had the privilege of:
🌱 Teaching my first in-person ESL course in collaboration with the Orillia Literacy Council
🧠 Facilitating my Neurodivergent Teen Social Group both online and in-person with the City of Orillia
📖 Continuing to write my first book on NVLD
🎙️ Being a guest on two neurodivergent podcasts, sharing lived experience and advocacy
♿ Becoming Vice-Chair of the Accessibility Committee for the Simcoe County District School Board
✍️ Continuing my disability advocacy writing with The NVLD Project
🤍 Deepening my disability advocacy work through volunteering with the Disability Justice Network of Ontario (DJNO)

This year reminded me that small steps create big change especially when rooted in compassion, inclusion, and community. I’m so grateful for everyone who supported my work, believed in my vision, and walked alongside me this year. 💛🙏

Here’s to more advocacy, more connection, and continuing to build a world where neurodivergent voices are heard and valued in 2026. ✨🥰

✨ POV: it’s almost 2026 ✨

A little grief for what’s gone.
A little gratitude for what stayed.
And a whole lot of hope for what’s still to come 🤍

This year asked a lot of me growth, resilience, patience, and trust.
As a neurodivergent person, endings can feel heavy… but they can also be gentle reminders that we survived, learned, and kept going.❤

I’m stepping into the new year with softer expectations, deeper self-compassion, and hope rooted in possibility ✨
Not rushing.
Not forcing.
Just moving forward as I am.❤

Here’s to honoring the past, holding space for the present, and believing in what’s next 💫
