Over the past year, My Moon Collective has been met with many small shifts that are ultimately leading us to greater change (more on that next year.. 😉)

AND one of these shifts has been finding a new more sustainable approach to our Winter Solstice & 12 Days of Crystals Holiday offerings.
For the past 5 years, these two products have had a loyal following. For is it was ever about removing them completely but rather leaning into a new more aligned way of doing things.
This year, our 2025 Holiday offerings can be ordered on demand. Rather than creating 20 identical (or almost identical) boxes, we’re shifting towards creating something more customizable and personal.
Curated with products already found in shop, each box will now be made to order. Our hope is that this shift will keep the spirit of our Winter Solstice Box & 12 days of Crystals alive, while building on something that feels more unique and made just for you!

What to know now:
late-night shopping - Nov 21st, Dec 5th & Dec 19th.
[due to an event on the 21st, we won’t be able to participate, but will open briefly at 9pm for any late-late shoppers!]

Find us open late December 5th & 19th with oracle readings and our My Moon Bevvie Bar sampling some of our favourite warm drink options in-shop!
Black Friday weekend [November 28th-30th] we welcome the return of our Brown Paper Packages [aka our annual heavily discounted surprise boxes]. It’s like a Secret Santa from My Moon to you! + we have our annual local live giveaway! Shop in-store to be entered to win local gift cards to other businesses!
& December 6th & 7th we will be celebrating with our block during the Pints & Presents Holiday Market hosted by / . Stop by for vendors, drinks, Santa, live music & more! My Moon will have a “Build Your Own Simmer Pot Bar” and we are particularly excited about this one!

The Downtown Orillia BIA is excited to officially launch The Sunshine City Downtown Orillia Gift Card - a modern, secure, and data-driven replacement for the former Downtown Dollar program!

What is the Sunshine City Downtown Orillia Gift Card?
The new card is a multi-business “shop local” gift card powered by MiConex- the same system used successfully in 150+ communities across Canada, the US, UK and Ireland. Cards are powered by Visa, meaning:
• They work at participating downtown businesses only
• No new hardware or software is required to accept them
• Merchants receive same-day payouts
• Cards are available in both physical and digital form (Apple/Google Wallet tap-to-pay)

This system allows us to finally track local spending behaviour, run promotions, and show the economic impact of shopping downtown.

Merchant Sign-Up Details:

Registration is now open for businesses that wish to accept the new Sunshine City Gift Card! While participation is optional, only registered merchants will be able to accept the card when it launches in late November.

Launch Timeline
We are targeting an official launch in November, to align with the holiday shopping season and promotion campaigns. Businesses that are signed up in advance will be included on the public “Where to Spend” directory at launch.

Last week My Moon Collective won Most Valuable Business in the ! What a sweet little surprise this was. & I am learning to celebrate myself, the little & small wins, so here we go….
We are a small little shop here on the Main Street of Orillia, but we are also so big! I’ve always said “our little [but oh so big] shop” 🌟
In the 5.5 years that we have had our doors open this space has grown and evolved with me through my many seasons of shop girlhood. In truth, at the end of last year I hit a wall, and moving into 2025 I proclaimed that I was no longer working for the shop, the shop would now work for me! 🤣 I took a significant step back & gave myself space to return to balance. Which ultimately was the sneakiest power move of all because it was the reconnection and revival of my my fire and “why”.
Some of you might not know this, but My Moon Collective really started well before I opened the shops physical doors. In 2017 I moved back to Orillia, after years away, living in big cities & backpacking around the world. To say being back in my home town was an adjustment would be understatement.
Look, I’ve come to love Orillia, but I certainly never thought I would be landing back in my hometown so permanently and especially not in my late 20’s.
The one thing I really struggled to find when I moved home was my people. Aside from family (love them) I didn’t have much of a community here. I was incredibly lonely, and old stories from my teen years of living here emerged. The feeling of being an outcast or different. Which now seems so silly, because how wonderful it is to be your own unique person! But it was the truth of where I sat in those early days home.
So I took matters into my own hands. Selfishly as a way to build a community and meet people began hosting full moon circles. [side note: some of the women I meet in these circles are now my best and dearest sisters!]
The ripple effect slowly unfolded. Some circles would be full and others just me. But I kept showing up. I think I knew on a deeper level there was something here.

Last year our readers were booked back to back all night! To help ensure everyone gets in we have opened pre-bookings from 5pm-7pm! This is the only way to guarantee your spot and preferred time!

Walk-in’s/ first come first serve starts at 7pm and will run until the market closes at 10pm.
Please note: times booked between 5-6pm are prior to the markets start time. This is a great chance to pop in for your reading, go grab some grub down or pop over to the shops across the way and then head back to the market between 6-10pm
