🤯 2 COMMON MYTHS ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC CARE in honour of National Chiropractic Month:

1. Chiropractors only treat low back and neck
2. You wait until you’re injured or in pain to receive chiropractic treatment

Dr. Allison McFarlane from Back to Function debunks these myths here 👇

1. Chiropractors treat ALL JOINTS, not just the back and neck. Anything from your thumb to your shoulder to your feet!

2. PAIN is one of the LAST SIGNALS your body sends you when something isn’t working properly. When experiencing dysfunction, your Chiro will notice subtle changes in mobility or joint mechanics that often go unnoticed by you, the patient.

Coming in for a consultation with one of our chiropractors can be compared to taking your car in for a tuneup. Nothing needs to be wrong or broken, but it’s always a good idea to get checked over to make sure everything’s functioning properly BEFORE a problem comes up!

If you’re someone who’s been apprehensive about chiropractic care, Dr. Allison also shares that chiropractic adjustment is only one modality of treatment. They also do soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, cupping, taping, and more.

When another practitioner recognizes your work, it’s always meaningful.

A huge thank you to in Uxbridge for including Back to Function on her list of trusted “second opinion” chiropractors.

Our specialty is working with complex cases that need a little extra knowledge and problem-solving - and to be recognized for that by a colleague we respect means a lot.

Grateful to be part of a wider community of practitioners who share the same dedication to learning, collaboration, and patient success.

Dr. Tara recently attended an incredible workshop with to deepen her skills in craniosacral therapy and fascial release techniques specifically for infants.

These gentle, hands-on techniques support babies in moving more freely and comfortably, so they can thrive as they explore the world around them.

Topics covered included torticollis, hypertonic muscle tone, infant reflux, oral ties and breastfeeding difficulties.

Dr. Tara is excited to bring this knowledge back to the clinic to continue providing the best care possible for our littlest patients!

We were proud to support several local youth hockey teams this weekend by providing baseline concussion testing at Back to Function.

A baseline test offers athletes a valuable snapshot of their brain function while they’re healthy, giving coaches, parents, and healthcare providers a reliable comparison point if a head injury ever occurs.

These proactive steps not only help protect players but also ensure safer, smarter return-to-play decisions.

We’re excited to see these athletes hit the ice this season and wish all the teams the very best of luck! 🏒 💪 ✨
