Physio Sport Plus We are a fully bilingual physiotherapy and sport medicine center that offers active and up to date treatment based on research to all our active clients.

We want to make sure our clients return to their active pain free lifestyle. Three of our seven physiotherapists have more than 20 years of experience to adresse your injuries or pains. We also have on site a pedorthist that does a great foot function assessment and orthotics fitting if needed. Cindie also does custom bracing. We sell on site a variety of braces, compression socks, McKenzie supports for the back and also extra orthopaedic supplies. Our massage therapists are here to help you return to your daily activities.

Don't let a "frozen bonk" ruin your day on the trails. Whether you're skiing up a mountain or hitting a winter long run, your body has unique needs:

Hydrate: Cold air is dry air. Drink up.
Carb Up: 30–60g of quick carbs per hour for the high-intensity efforts.
Slow Burn: Mix in fats/protein for the long, steady hauls.

Are you recovering properly after your workouts? What you feed your body can make a big difference. Try implementing the 4 Rs of Recovery Nutrition after your next workout.

Refuel: After a workout, your energy stores (glycogen - stored sugar) is depleted. You need to refuel the tank with CARBOHYDRATES.

Repair: You've just worked your muscles hard, creating little microtears that prime the muscles for growth. You need PROTEIN to provide the building blocks for this.

Rehydrate: Drink up your fluids!

Rest: Get adequate sleep and down time.

Pink Shirt Day is a reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and accepted—both in our community and beyond.

DID YOU KNOW? Pink Shirt Day started in 2007 in Berwick, Nova Scotia?

After a new student at their school was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. David and Travis, two grade 12 students, had witnessed the scene and that night bought 75 pink shirts to give out and via social media encouraged their classmates to wear pink. The next day they arrived early to distribute the shirts. To their surprise, the majority of students arrived wearing something pink! With that act of kindness, Pink Shirt Day was born.

Let’s keep choosing empathy over judgment and kindness over bullying, today and every day.

La Journée du chandail rose nous rappelle que tout le monde mérite de se sentir en sécurité, soutenu et accepté — au sein de notre communauté et au-delà.

LE SAVIEZ-VOUS? La Journée du chandail rose a vu le jour en 2007 à Berwick, en Nouvelle-Écosse.

Tout a commencé lorsqu’un nouvel élève a été intimidé à l’école parce qu’il portait un chandail rose. David et Travis, deux élèves de 12e année, ont été témoins de la scène. Le soir même, ils ont acheté 75 chandails roses à distribuer et ont encouragé leurs camarades, via les médias sociaux, à porter du rose. Le lendemain, ils sont arrivés tôt pour distribuer les chandails. À leur grande surprise, la majorité des élèves portaient quelque chose de rose ! C’est ainsi qu’est née la Journée du chandail rose.

Continuons de choisir l’empathie plutôt que le jugement et la gentillesse plutôt que l’intimidation — aujourd’hui et tous les jours.

Rebekah De Couvreur, Registered Dietitian, shares her tips on Constipation!

Constipation is a very common gastrointestinal complaint. There are many different factors that can contribute to constipation. However, starting with the basics is helpful in identifying in further exploration is needed.

Fiber: Women need at least 25g of fiber daily and men require at least 30g daily. Aim for a combination of soluble (found in the fleshy part of fruits and veg, avocados, and legumes), and insoluble (roughage, the skins and seeds of fruits and veg, bran) fiber.

Fluids: Ensure you are drinking fluids regularly throughout teh day. Start with 1.5-2L daily but ensure you increase if you exercise, are a heavy sweater, are exposed to heat and humidity, or are on medications that increase urination.

Activity: movement helps to keep the Gastrointestinal tract in motion as well, moving things along in the intestines. Too much sedentary time (in cars, behind a desk, on the couch) can increase risk of constipation.
