Thank you to Mr. Stephen Blais M.P.P. for Orléans for coming to visit the Centre and recognizing the purchase of Sonshine's new wheelchair accessible van made possible by the Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant! It will allow our RAYS participants to shine even further and participate in their community.

Sonshine Activity Clubs programs Starting Sept 2022

Hello Sonshine Family and Friends,

Unfortunately, there have been a few covid positive cases from some individuals that attended last week's camp.

As Sonshine is classified as a congregate care setting next week's camp is cancelled to ensure we do not have any further cases and to allow our staff to isolate following our covid procedures.

We encourage campers that attended last week to monitor for symptoms and rapid test.

As always we encourage everyone to stay masked, get your boosters, and stay safe.

Many years dreaming, many, many, months planing, working and building to reach this point but most of all we are thankful for the possibilities for the future, for the individuals and families we support. This is celebrated in a small way today.

Again thank you everyone for visiting at our official opening including our Board of Directors, the Hon. Marie-France Lalonde M.P. for Orleans; Mr. Stephen Blais M.P.P. for Orléans, Mr. Matthew Luloff city councilor for Orléans; Ms. Laura Dudas city councilor for Innes, and Ms. Catherine Kitts city councilor for Cumberland as well as all our other honoured guests. We hope to see you all again when we're able to safely hold an open house.

Thank you to the Government of Canada through Employment and Social Development Canada Enabling Accessibility Fund's 1 million dollar grant that we were able to build our our dream. Thank you to Blueprint Construction who turned our dream into a reality. Thank you to The Ontario Trillium Foundation for their Capital Grant which enabled us to create our two Snoezelen rooms and have accessible computer equipment. Thank you to The Home Depot for designing and building our sensory garden this coming spring; thank you to Kitchens By Design for our beautiful cabinets and floor. Thank you to Nspired Signs, Rotary International, Zodiac, Pathway Hyundai, Surgenor Ottawa, REM Charette, Oegema Nicholson & Associates Insurance Brokers Ltd for their contributions to the building. Most of all thank you to our participants, their families, and our staff who worked with us to create our new home, were patient during this transition, and continually work to make Sonshine what it is today.
