November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, but it doesnโ€™t have to be.

Thanks to the Ontario Lung Screening Program, we now have tools to detect lung cancer early โ€” often before symptoms appear โ€” when treatment has the best chance of success.

This November, help raise awareness.

Share this post with someone that may be eligible for lung cancer screening ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘ป Donโ€™t ghost your health this Halloween!

Between the costumes, candy, and pumpkin carving, take a moment to think about something truly scary โ€” missing your regular cancer screenings.

Screenings help find cancer early, when itโ€™s most treatable.

Routine screening can detect certain cancers early โ€” sometimes even before symptoms appear. That means better treatment options and better outcomes.

โœ”๏ธ Mammograms can detect breast cancer early
โœ”๏ธ HPV tests (pap test) can help prevent cervical cancer
โœ”๏ธ FIT can detect precancerous polyps that may lead to colon cancer
โœ”๏ธ Low-dose CT scans can catch lung cancer early in eligible adults.

So this spooky season, make a plan to check in โ€” not check out โ€” on your health. ๐ŸŽƒ

Visit cercp.ca for more information and to book your appointment.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month โ€” the perfect time to learn the signs of breast cancer and share a reminder to schedule your screening mammogram.

As a Know Your Lemons Foundation ambassador, we're sharing this important information to help you better understand what to look for.

๐Ÿ” Did you know a lump isnโ€™t the only sign of breast cancer?

There are 12 possible symptoms, and some are easy to miss โ€” like skin dimpling, ni**le changes, or unusual swelling.

If you have any of these signs or symptoms, it is important to talk to your family doctor or nurse practitioner.

Screening for breast cancer with regular mammograms, when you do not have any symptoms and feel well, is the best way to find cancer early.

Mammograms can find cancer when it is small and easiest to treat, giving you the best chance for a cure.

๐Ÿ“Œ Why it matters:
โ€ข 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
โ€ข Early detection can lead to earlier diagnosis โ€” and better outcomes.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Share this with the women in your life.

๐Ÿฉบ Check yourself regularly, know the symptoms, and donโ€™t delay screening.

Visit cercp.ca to book your mammogram today!

Cancer Takedown is an uplifting evening of song, story and solidarity.

Featuring incredible musicians Melissa Payne, Kate Suhr, The Weber Brothers, Nicholas Campbell, Anthony Bastianon and more.

Co-hosted by comedic powerhouses Megan Murphy and Denise Oucharek.

The show also features three women (all diagnosed under the age of 40) sharing their stories; focusing on the emotional and mental rollercoaster that the cancer experience brings.

The Lindsay show at Flato Academy Theatre will feature special guest Jeanne Beker; a trailblazer in Canadian media and one of Canadaโ€™s most beloved influences on fashion and culture.
In 2022, Jeanne was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is committed to supporting others and helping normalize the cancer conversation. Jeanne has a soft spot for Lindsay, having found her doodle Hamish at the Lakewood Ranch.

Cancer Takedown is a fundraiser, but more importantly it is a spirit-raiser for anyone touched by cancer. Our ambition is to bring attention to the emotional and mental burden of cancer, uniting people through shared experience.

This year, for the first time, Cancer Takedown is expanding to a Lindsay show at the Flato Academy Theatre and back for the fourth time at Market Hall in Peterborough.

All proceeds go to Cancer Care at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre
