Dr. Theresa Lisk We provide Chiropractic & Acupuncture services to the population. As a Chiropractor, we are trained in treating the nervous system, muscles and joints.

At Dr. Theresa's Health Institute we offer both Chiropractic services and first aid/cpr training. We provide care to ensure your spine and body is functioning optimally. Chiropractors uses a specific and specialized hands on treatment called a Chiropractic Adjustment. The purpose of the adjustment is to remove any nervous interference caused by the mis-alignment, restoring the body’s nervous system to its optimal level and enabling the body to restore its health. The wellness aspect of Chiropractic focuses on the maintenance and restoration of bodily functions (like regular tune ups for you car) thereby minimizing symptoms and optimizing health. Our First Aid & CPR Courses are geared towards Chiropractors, their office staff and other health care professionals. All courses are through the Red Cross and provide a three year certification. For more information about courses please see www.drtheresalisk.com.

💖 Valentine’s Day is often about caring for others… but this month is also your reminder to care for yourself!!

Winter can be tough on both the body and mind, making intentional self‑care essential ❄️✨

❤️ Ways to support your spine & nervous system this month:

🔥 Warm up daily — gentle stretching or a warm shower helps reduce muscle tension
🚶‍♀️ Break up long sitting periods — even 2 minutes of movement each hour makes a difference
💧 Stay hydrated — winter dryness can affect joint lubrication
😴 Prioritize sleep — your spine decompresses and repairs overnight
💆‍♂️ Book a chiropractic tune‑up — adjustments help maintain mobility and reduce winter stiffness

Self‑care isn’t indulgent, it’s foundational. When your spine is supported, your whole body functions better. 💙

Standing Cat‑Cow: Your February Mobility Boost!

This variation of the classic Cat‑Cow is perfect for February because you can do it anywhere, at home, at work, or even while warming up before heading outdoors ❄️✨

🌬️ Why it’s beneficial:
🌀 Improves thoracic & lumbar mobility
💆‍♀️ Reduces neck and shoulder tension
🌬️ Encourages healthy breathing patterns
📏 Helps counteract winter posture habits (slouching, hunching, curling inward)

How to Do It:
1️⃣ Stand with feet hip‑width apart, knees soft, hands on your thighs
2️⃣ Inhale — gently arch your back, lift your chest, draw shoulder blades together (Cow)
3️⃣ Exhale — round your spine, tuck your chin, pull your belly inward (Cat)
4️⃣ Move slowly for 10–15 reps, focusing on breath and fluidity

💡 Tip: This is a perfect mid‑day reset if you’ve been sitting for long periods!

🧠✨ Chiropractic care is more than just “feeling aligned” it’s about supporting the connection between your spine and your nervous system.

When spinal joints become stiff or restricted, the brain receives altered sensory input, which can impact:

🔹 Proprioception — your awareness of movement and position
🔹 Motor control — how efficiently your muscles activate
🔹 Postural stability — your ability to stay balanced
🔹 Movement patterns — how your body adapts to daily tasks

Chiropractic adjustments help restore proper joint motion, improving the quality of information sent to the brain and supporting better mobility, function, and overall well‑being. 🌿💆‍♀️

❄️ Why this matters in February:
Cold weather, less movement, and more time indoors can increase stiffness. Supporting spinal mobility now helps you stay comfortable, move with ease, and maintain better posture all winter long.
