Master the King of Yoga Poses: Shirshasana (Headstand)

Meeting the King, Shirshasana, requires earning your way through his “ministers” – foundational asanas like planks, Chaturanga, and Naukasana. Strength, balance, and patience are key to achieving a stable, wall-independent headstand.

Over three Sundays, we’ll:
✅ Strengthen your core, legs, and glutes
✅ Improve shoulder mobility for stability
✅ Learn safe headstand entry and exit techniques using a wall and yoga chair
✅ Practice weekly take-home drills to refine your skills

This workshop is designed for beginners and intermediates looking to level up their yoga practice. By the end of this journey, you’ll fall in love with the King of Yoga Poses!

I practice yoga every day, but I wanted to share a picture on a day when the whole world celebrates yoga! Happy IYD 2024!!

It took me a little over 2 years to get into the Bakasana hold for a good 20 seconds. I wanted to celebrate these little wins with my Instagram followers!

For women, it's even more challenging to work on upper body strength and balancing asanas. This is because upper body muscles have more androgen receptors, and these hormonal differences serve as a reminder for every woman to work on their upper body strength, ESPECIALLY DANCERS!
