Although the study focuses on patients only through three years post-stroke, Dr. Efrati has seen similar improvement in patients whose brain injuries occurred up to 20 years before, belying the concept that the brain has a limited window for growth and change. "The findings challenge the leading paradigm since they demonstrate beyond any doubt that neuroplasticity can still be activated for months and years after acute brain injury, thus revealing that many aspects of the brain remain plastic into adulthood," says Prof. Ben-Jacob.

This study also "opens the gate into a new territory of treatment," adds Dr. Efrati

Through the use of hyperbaric, oxygen-rich chambers, medical researchers have found a way to restore a significant amount of neurological function in brain tissue thought to be chronically damaged by stroke, traumatic injury, and metabolic disorder -- even years after the original injury.

After my catastrophic accident I set myself a few huge goals and this week I’ve accomplished one of them👌. Being able to sit up straight with no support at all was deemed to be impossible to achieve with the severity of my injuries (L1 ASIA A spinal cord injury and right ischemic brain stroke). I have restored full range of motion on my left side. My next massive goal is transitioning from an electric chair to a manual chair. For that I will need to regain full motor control and build more power on the left side.

Within the next few weeks I will be starting passive walking therepy. The idea is to retrain the brain the motion of walking and stimulate the lower motor neurons to hopefully get a response. This is going to be sick!!
Isabelle Bourdon keeping my head hard as rock love you 💕

Intensive therapies:
-physio/physical therapy 4x week
- occupational therapy 2x week
-everyday workout 60-90 min (cardiovascular fitness, resistance training, neuro training...)
Minimum of 3 hrs of intensive therapies per day, 6/7 days, nothing less! It’s the only way to maximize those stem cells.

Nutrition:
Forcing at least 3000 cals/day in. Anything less and the body will have a hard time keeping up.
3 big meals( usually consists of meat, lots of rice and stir fried veggies).
4 eggs, 1 cup of oatmeal (breakfast)
3-4 scoops of pure protein every day.
1-2 gatorade/day.
As long as my 200g of protein is in, snacks of choice. Protein and quick sugars are crucial. I’m glad to say I’ve put on 20-25 lbs in the last 3 months. (At least 1/2 is muscle 💪)
Minimum 2L water/day

Supplementation/ vitamins/hormonal therapies ( won’t state the dosages for vitamins)
-glutamine 15g/day
-citrulline milate 4g/day
- BCAA’s ( Branch Chain Aminos acids) (atleast 2 servings/day)
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Vitamin E
Multivitamin
Omega-3 fish oils
Turmeric
Resveramax
Joint Support
Glucosamine
Zinc
Milk Thistle
Vitamin B100
** peptides
TB4-FRAG and BPC-157 PURE( special healing proteins)
Testosterone Enanthate 125mg/week
1-2IU’s HGH/day
Before you people jump to conclusions, since my injury, hormones have been not only prescribed but encouraged in my current situation and also used at a medical dosage. Elevated testosterone levels can maximize recovery process of the muscles and the nerves, most importantly GH is the master hormone for cell regeneration process

Since coming back from Minnesota I’ve found my drive once again. All muscles from the waist up are changing as in motor control and strength. I’ve been able to regain some bowel and bladder function below injury level (L1)For that reason I’m optimistic something will respond in the lower extremities. Im putting as much weight as possible on my feet to try and stimulate those sensory receptors. My physiotherapist practices passif movements everyday. We also use FES each week to look for a new response. And guess what if that doesn’t work, Minnesota round 2 and we’ll reload the back with another set of stem cells.

Just thought I’d tell you people what an average week looks like in full recovery mode. I’m as precise and honest as can get.
Less guests = less distraction = better mindset= better chance of recovery. Can’t forget Isabelle Nathalie who keeps me in the game ❤️❤️

UNDERESTIMATION is what brought back my motivation!!!!

Finally seeing some regeneration below level of injury. Concentration right now is building that upper body back up while rewiring the brain ( neuro plasticity )in the early stages. We’re also improving cardiovascular health at a heavy pace to hopefully maximize regeneration. - Dave

(ENGLISH) Hello everyone !

As you may or may not know, On December 8th 2019, David had a poly-trauma car accident. He sustained a spinal cord injury that resulted in paraplegia, intra-abdominal injury and due to hypotension, he also had a R MCA ischemic stroke which affected his left side.

This page is dedicated to Dave to be able to share his progress with you all and his Stem Cells journey going forward. This is also where you can write words of encouragement to him.

As you might expect it, the past few months have been extremely difficult. Especially with COVID and the impact it has had on the availability of medical services, care and rehabilitation, on top of having to move in Ottawa, it's been a rollercoaster. Despite these hardships, Dave continued to push himself beyond his limits as he always does. For those worrying about us, we are stronger than ever and yes, still in love !

After several months of research, he finally decided to go for a stem cell treatment. We were able to find a clinic that specializes in this type of procedure in the United States.

Luckily Dr. Baumgartner at Rejuv Medical agreed to take Dave as a patient. COVID or not, the decision to leave the country in the midst of a pandemic was easy for us. Despite our fears, what was most important was to get there as quickly as possible in order to maximize the potential of this treatment.

On Monday, August 24th, we arrived in St. Cloud, Minnesota USA for David's treatment. After several weeks of anticipation, the big day has finally arrived.

Please like and share this page with your family and friends in order to share his story and help raise funds for this procedure and future medical needs! Together, let's support Dave and send him all the positive thoughts and prayers!

THANK YOU

When you become the new record for the amount of stemcells they have EVER harvested in 10+ years of doing this treatment !!! 6.9 BILLION , CRAZY! What a miracle David is!

He is getting them injected into his lumbar spine at this exact moment👊💪

Today is the big day!!!💪♥️
