A volunteer community initiative for writers who are disabled and/or who manage chronic conditions. Cait here. Anyway, to my delight it got published. Cheers!

I wrote my first novel (Life in the 'Cosm) as an exercise to take my mind off chronic neuropathy. I even included a character in the story who deals with a disability. When my cane and I went to the literary conference where my novel first sold, I noticed so many other writers with canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. I felt so encouraged by their presence and enthusiasm for their craft. I thought, "This is cool. There are a lot of us out here." So, in November 2016, I decided to create the Spoonie Author Network, in hopes of finding other writers who would like to connect and their their journeys. "We write words and manage spoons." As of April 2017, I have nine writers as contributors. I'm gobsmacked. Their stories touch me deeply as I edit them, and I am thrilled that many want to come back again as guest bloggers.
