For a school-aged child, nutrition is the foundation for focus, confidence, and academic success. That’s why Nutrition Blocs partners with the Carlington SWAG program. We ensure students have access to reliable, nourishing meals every day. The result? Graduation rates are rising. Futures are changing. Because when kids are well-fed, they’re ready to learn and succeed.

For many families, March Break is a time to rest, travel, and enjoy a break from routine. But for thousands of school-aged children in Ottawa, there is no break from food insecurity.
Even during March break, Nutrition Blocs continues to work alongside volunteers and community partners to ensure that children across our city have access to nourishing meals.

Because of our community of donors, children can return to the classroom ready to learn, grow, and thrive.

Hunger doesn’t take a break, and neither do we.

Your gift of $25 provides five hot meals to a child who might otherwise go hungry any time of year. Every meal helps fuel a future. https://nutritionblocs.org/donate/

What an incredible daytime event.

We were honoured to be invited as the charity beneficiary of the She Shops Local International Women’s Day Networking Event at the National Arts Centre, centred around a simple but powerful idea. Kindness.

The room was filled with women who are building businesses, supporting one another, and strengthening our community at the same time. The energy in the room was something special.

A heartfelt thank you to She Shops Local, the National Arts Centre, and everyone who stopped by, bought cake, asked questions, and supported Nutrition Blocs. Your generosity helps ensure school-aged children in our community have access to the hot nutritious meals they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

Behind every number is a story, and behind every story is a family doing their best.

A mother had no food for her family for one week, and her kids came home talking about the meals we prepared and delivered; happy and grateful. Hearing her say, “Nutrition Blocs came in like God,” reminds us why this work matters. One family. One child. One meal at a time.

When families feel supported, stress turns into relief and uncertainty turns into hope. One family. One child. One meal at a time; each one building a stronger, more connected community.

Please help us continue supporting these stories and families by donating at www.nutritionblocs.org

Access to nutritious meals does more than simply nourish; it creates opportunity.

Our partners have experienced this impact firsthand as food brings school-aged children together, strengthens programs, and encourages participation.

“People don't realize the importance of food. It has made a significant difference. And the story I'm telling now is that more children are attending the program because of the healthy snacks, thanks to Nutrition Blocs.” - Ottawa School of Art

When food is welcoming and reliable, children will show up ready to learn and engage in a place where they feel they belong.

Tomorrow, Nutrition Blocs is proud and grateful to be part of the International Women’s Day Event at the National Arts Centre, hosted by She Shops Local.

A heartfelt thank you to the event organizers for featuring the Cake Bar in support of Nutrition Blocs. Because sometimes the sweetest way to make a difference in a child’s life… is with cake.

“The Cake Bar – It’s a piece of cake to serve up support!”
Guests can purchase delicious cake slices to take home, with proceeds helping Nutrition Blocs continue our mission to eradicate food insecurity among school-aged children in Ottawa.

If you’re attending tomorrow, be sure to stop by the Cake Bar, grab a slice, and help turn dessert into impact.

Every meal we create starts with a community that shows up for children, for families, and for each other. Nutrition Blocs’ impact is only possible because of strong partnerships rooted in trust and care.

Nutrition Blocs proudly partners with Caldwell Community Centre, whose kitchen team plays a vital role in preparing and distributing meals to children and families across Ottawa. Together, we are turning vision into action.

Thank you to our local partners who have helped Nutrition Blocs prepare and distribute over 40,000 meals in the past year, ensuring children receive fresh, nourishing food where and when they need it most.

When communities come together, children thrive. Be part of that change by donating at www.nutritionblocs.org

Every child deserves to feel secure, to trust that their basic needs will be covered.

Nutrition Blocs is working towards a future where school-aged children don’t have to wonder about their next meal. Through consistent, reliable access to nourishing food, we help create stability that children can count on every day.

When meals are dependable, children gain more nutrition and are better equipped for learning and growth. They gain confidence and freedom to think about their futures. Certainty can create a space for growth, and that is where potential can begin.

Help us continue building a future where children feel supported and secure.

We are incredibly honoured to share that Nutrition Blocs is one of the official charity partners of the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival this June!

The Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is one of our city’s most vibrant summer traditions that brings together teams, families, local business, and local supporters. Everyone gathers in a celebration of community and teamwork/

To be chosen as a charity partner means so much to us. Every paddle, team and supporter helps strengthen our mission to ensure children and families across Ottawa have access to nutritious meals.

We are so grateful to be part of an event that reflects the very heart of what we believe in: when community shows up together, real impact happens.

We can’t wait to cheer on the teams and celebrate an unforgettable weekend on the water between June 19 and 21st.
