It's almost the Spring Equinox. It is cold (feels like -20C), it is blustery, there is a thick layer of new snow and ice that appeared overnight. But if you stand in it, still, and listen - beyond the wind and beyond your breath, you can hear what is coming.

This morning it was a sky filled with hundreds of migrating Canadian Geese coming home, foretelling that despite my current surroundings, the warmth and sun of Spring is almost here.

And they brought with them ancient teachings. Flying in large communities, they share leadership in V-Formation. As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the one behind it. Together, they reduce wind resistance and can fly much farther than they could alone. When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back, and another takes its place. Moving as a unit, they share the load, and support the ones who are struggling. This is what strong communities look like.
We go farther when we move together, and towards the light and warmth.

Sometimes the message we need isn’t in our thoughts — it’s in nature.
