Congratulations to the Simulation Training Team for being recognized as Health Care Heroes! 👏👏

The simulation team is a collaborative partnership between the Brightshores Health System Office of Research and Innovation and Georgian College, offering an exciting training exercise for community health providers. The work was funded by the Pan-Canadian Palliative Care Research Collaborative (PCPCRC) and offers full day training sessions to interdisciplinary community health care providers with a focus on providing a palliative approach to care in the community for Grey Bruce patients and families.

The team was recognized for providing a wonderful experience and learning opportunity. We are grateful for their innovative work!

This morning, Gary & Wendy Byers stopped by Brightshores Owen Sound with a generous donation to the wonderful staff on 4-1 (surgery). Gary was admitted in September with a sudden medical issue and received exceptional care. He said the staff on 4-1 came to the rescue and are his shining stars this holiday season.

Gary did not just thank the nurses, but also the cleaning staff and everyone he crossed paths with. It was so wonderful to see Gary so grateful for the care he received, expressing his gratitude and putting smiles on so many faces!

Gary was so moved by the care; he even brought in his own holiday card that unfolded to a giant cheque (as pictured). Thank you Gary!

The recommended deadline for mutual funds was December 5th.
For all other securities we recommend completing your donation before December 15th.

It's our annual Giving Tuesday tradition. Foundation staff take the giving part of the day literally and we give back to staff at Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital.
1,200 simple sweet Canadian butter tarts to show our gratitude for everything the staff do to take care of this community!

It's the final week of Make a Will month! Thanks for sticking with us!

Making a will is easier and less complicated than it may seem. There's lots of life events which might prompt you to get one and then re-evaluate it. We recommend using a lawyer but there's lots of online services for simple wills.

But what about including a charity in your Will?

♥ Demonstrate your values to your loved ones
♥ Receive donation tax credits which can significantly reduce the tax owed by your Estate

Specifying a percentage or share of your Estate can ensure your gift is always appropriate, regardless of what's left.
