🌟 Wow, we are truly speechless! Today, Michael and Elise Schmidt stopped by Chapman House to drop off their incredible donation from The Christkindl Market—an astounding $27,300.00! 🎉
A heartfelt thank you doesn’t seem enough for everyone involved in making the market a success and for all who came out to support it. It was a beautiful event!
The Messiah in the Barn was absolutely spectacular, and now, with these funds raised, we can ensure that residents in all of Grey and Bruce communities have access to no cost, exceptional palliative care. ❤️
Thank you all for your generosity and support! 🙏

💙✨ LOVE WINS — Today and Every Day at Grey Bruce Hospice ✨💙
On Mother’s Day weekend, resident Jean enjoyed the warmth of the May sunshine from her patio, gently supported by RN Kate, volunteer Barb, and PSW Nancy. These quiet, tender moments—simple yet deeply meaningful—remind us that even during life’s most difficult chapters, love continues to shine through.
Our Love Wins End of Year Campaign is inspired by stories like Jean’s—stories of comfort, connection, dignity, and the compassionate people who make these moments possible every day.
💙 When you support the Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation, you help create more moments of peace… more moments of joy… and more moments where love truly wins.
Your generosity helps ensure hospice care remains compassionate, accessible, and always guided by love. Thank you for helping love win—again and again. 💙🌿

💙🐾 LOVE WINS at Chapman House 🐾💙
GBH resident Donna shared a heart-warming visit with tiny kittens, made possible by our incredible volunteer, Heather—who always finds thoughtful ways to bring comfort, connection, and joy to Chapman House.
In moments like these—gentle purrs, warm cuddles, and shared smiles—we’re reminded of what truly matters: love, presence, and human connection. This is the kind of care your support helps make possible.
As we continue our End of Year “Love Wins” Campaign at Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation, we invite you to help ensure these meaningful moments remain part of every resident’s journey. Your generosity brings comfort, dignity, and gentle joy when it’s needed most.
Come on down to the Owen Sound Farmers' Market today! A wonderful group of girls from the OSDSS Leadership Class is spending their day raising funds for The Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation, Chapman House.
They've gotten creative by decorating golf balls that were donated by Chesley Lake Camp and are selling them by donation. 🎨⛳️
Join us in supporting this fantastic initiative and help raise money for exceptional palliative care for all residents of Grey & Bruce. Your support makes a difference!
See you there! 💖✨

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You!🌟
We want to extend a huge thank you to Westside Nurseries & Greenhouses for their generous donation of beautiful poinsettias today! 🎄 These lovely plants have brightened up all nine of our residents' rooms, bringing joy and warmth this holiday season.
A special shout-out to Jessica Neerhof and Piet Smook for your unwavering support. Westside is truly a champion of hospice care, always stepping up to donate whatever we need to keep our gardens flourishing—whether it’s soil, wood chips, or your stunning flowers.

From the Desk of Sunny - The Hospice Helper 🐾
Hi everyone!
I just had to take a moment to share how much I absolutely love coming into Hospice during the holidays! The air is filled with excitement, delightful smells, and an overwhelming sense of generosity. Today was particularly special because we had the wonderful Stacey Fenwick swing by with gift certificates for family members who have a loved one here. Can you believe he has been doing this since 2017? A huge thank you to Stacey and his family for spreading such joy and kindness year after year!
Now, let’s talk about the smells wafting from the kitchen—oh my dog, they are simply divine! I can’t resist sneaking a whiff or two. And the snuggles? Endless! The volunteers are always so loving, and the clinical staff make my tail wag with all those belly rubs! It’s the absolute best part of my day.
I also made a special trip upstairs to visit the admin team, and guess what? Most of them have treats stashed away in their drawers just for me! I’m telling you, it’s like a treasure hunt up there.
Today got even cooler when I met another four-legged volunteer, Mr. Mugs! He and his owner, Dick Beresford, come in every Thursday to visit the residents and their families. We hit it off right away, and wouldn’t you know it—we’re both not very picky eaters! Missing a meal? Not on our watch!
And speaking of new friends, I also had the pleasure of meeting our new Counsellor Dana Benson! She’s a fellow dog lover, and we got along wonderfully. With her kind eyes and warm heart, it’s clear she brings a lot of love and compassion to our Hospice community. I can’t wait to see her more often!
As the holidays approach, I’m wishing everyone a warm season filled with health, happiness, and plenty of treats!
See you around! 🐶

🎉 A Heartfelt Thank You to Nedlaw Roofing! 🎉
We are incredibly grateful to Nedlaw Roofing, formerly known as D.J. PEAT Roofing, for their ongoing support of Chapman House this year! Instead of gifts for their staff, they generously donated to the Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation. A total of $7490.00!!
Their commitment to our community doesn't stop there; Nedlaw is also responsible for the stunning living wall that has become a beautiful focal point at Chapman House. 🌿

✨ Our Holiday Newsletter went out yesterday! ✨
If you didn’t receive it, now’s the perfect time to sign up on our website so you never miss an update from GBHF. Our newsletters share resident stories, community impact, and ways you can get involved.
As we head toward the end of the year, we also want to remind you about our Love Wins campaign 💙 Love wins when residents have compassionate end-of-life care. Love wins when communities come together. Love wins because of supporters like you.
Take a moment to read our residents’ stories and, if you’re able, consider making a year-end gift to support our work. Your generosity helps ensure more people can access the housing and care they deserve.
Today was a heartwarming day at Chapman House as we received a generous gift of five beautiful quilts from two wonderful donations!
A huge thank you to Jan Sinclairand Pastor Dar Rath from Faith Lutheran Church in Port Elgin for their donation of two lovely quilts, and to Linda Malloy for contributing three more. Your kindness means so much to us!
The time and effort that goes into making each quilt is truly appreciated. Having these quilts on our beds enhances the warm, home-like environment we strive to create here at Chapman House.
Thank you, everyone! These quilts are not just beautiful; they will be treasured by our residents. 💖🙏

URGENT HELP NEEDED
A Message from the Executor Director of the Grey-Bruce Hospice:
I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and in good health. As essential service providers, we are closely following all of the government Coronavirus guidelines for the safety of our residents, families, employees and the Grey-Bruce Community.
The Grey-Bruce Hospice is a vitally important service in our community and we need your help to assist with the financial challenge we face during the Coronavirus outbreak.
We are asking for donations to help support our Grey Bruce Community Hospice via our fundraising page.
If you are not able to donate, we understand it's a difficult time and ask you to further the cause by sharing our message with friends and family.
This unprecedented time has created plenty of concerns for individuals and businesses who struggle to make ends meet and to pay their bills. Many not-for-profit organizations like ours have also been impacted with the struggle to safely deliver essential services.
As The Grey-Bruce Hospice was built by our community for our community, our funds are only raised within our community.
That is why the greatest challenge facing The Grey Bruce Hospice during the Coronavirus outbreak is our inability to do our regular fundraising activities. Activities like Casino Night at Legacy Ridge and Hike for Hospice that raise 200k+ per year.
What you may not know is that these funds are essential to cover 51% of our costs which are not covered by the government. Meeting our fundraising goals allows us to ease the final journey of over 750 within our community since our doors opened.
Today, even though we receive funding for 8 licensed beds, at any given point in time we have a waiting list of 20 or more people referred by their physician for hospice palliative care. Hospice frees up important hospital beds that at a time like now are in short supply.
Therefore I again ask if you are able - please donate either on-line by:
