Hello hello! šŸ‘‹

I’ve been noticing quite a few new faces on here and thought it was time I reintroduce myself! So here we go.

My name is Dr. Kayla Rynne and I am a chiropractor at Cobblestone Medicine and Rehab - Brant in Paris, ON ( )

Here are a few fun facts about me!

1) I’m taller than you think! People who see me online before they meet me in person are shocked that I’m almost 6 feet tall 🌱

2) I am trained and certified in Neurofunctional Acupuncture. So alongside my chiropractic treatments, I am also able to perform acupuncture to help decrease nerve pain, relax muscles, and help you move better! 🤸

3) I have a (debatably) unhealthy obsession with house plants. My house is full of them. I have a handful in my office at the clinic too! Sometimes I even water them. 🪓

4) I think people suffer from too many unnecessary headaches. SO many people see me and think they’re headaches are ā€œnormalā€, and after we work together for a few weeks they are significantly decreased or completely gone. It makes me sad for everyone with headaches who doesn’t seek treatment!

5) I have 2 big dogs. You probably already know this, but I never pass up an opportunity to talk about them! They are both Saint Bernard girls named Ellie and Georgia. If you scroll my page you’ll find pictures of them, or they’re always on a slideshow on my computer in my office!

It’s so great to see so many new faces around here! If you have any questions or are curious about anything I post, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

With being about a month back into the school year, I have seen a big influx of teenagers with headaches in my practice. The good news? Headaches are extremely treatable with chiropractic care!

As shown in a study by Lynge et al. (2021), spinal manipulation therapy (aka chiropractic adjustments) are very effective in treating headaches not only in adults, but in children and teens as well!

If you or your kiddo are suffering from headaches, I’d love to help! Visit the link in my bio or shoot me a message and we can chat.

Another amazing review, and this one means a whole lot to me!

My goal is always for my patients to feel like I am working alongside them to better their health, and a big part of that is making my office a safe and welcome space for my patients.

Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for patients to tell me about poor experiences with previous healthcare providers that weren’t listening to their needs or making them feel like they had a say in their care. I’ve been there myself. That’s part of the reason I became a chiropractor - to be the healthcare professional I wish I had had earlier.

The fact that so many of my patients have expressed to me how different I am from previous healthcare providers and how comfortable they are in my office truly warms my heart. Thank you for being amazing patients and making my job so fulfilling ā¤ļø

✨Neurofunctional Acupuncture✨

What is it?

Neurofunctional acupuncture is a western medicine approach to acupuncture. It focuses on targeting the nerves, muscles and joints that the needles are stimulating.

What does it do?

Depending on the injury or patient, our treatments can look very different. Some common goals of neurofunctional acupuncture are:
- decrease pain by targeting sensory nerves in the area of complaint
- increase recruitment of motor fibres in the muscle (helps improve muscle strength)
- diminish painful trigger points (muscle knots)
- balance our sympathetic nervous system (think fight or flight!) to promote quicker healing and decreased pain

But what about other types of acupuncture?

A traditional approach to acupuncture looks VERY different than the neurofunctional approach I take. Traditional acupuncture uses different philosophies, targets, and can treat many different conditions including mental health, visceral complaints, gastrointestinal complaints, and much more! If you have questions regarding traditional acupuncture, I highly recommend reaching out to Bir at . She is a phenomenal acupuncturist that I work with at and will be able to answer all your questions regarding traditional acupuncture!

So what’s going on in this picture?

Pictured here is one of my awesome running patients who strained her right hamstring while training for a half marathon at the end of the month. Myself and .bolton.pt (the running QUEEN) have been helping this patient return to training for her upcoming race.

In this photo you can see I am targeting trigger points in her lateral hamstrings, as well as along the posterior chain to help improve this patients mechanics after injury. I am also targeting the sciatic nerve (the top needle) to help modulate pain down the posterior leg. Combining acupuncture treatments with manual therapy and rehabilitation exercise has been helping get this patient great relief, and allowing her to gradually amp up her running again.

If you have any questions about neurofunctional acupuncture and if it could be an effective treatment option for you, shoot me a message!

Everyone meet GEORGIA! 🄰🐶

If you’ve been following my page for a while, you already know Ellie (on right, laying down). Ellie’s been with me for just over 4 years now and is the best girl!

If you’ve noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately, it’s because I’ve been very busy tending to our newly adopted pup Georgia! Georgia (on left, sitting) is estimated to be about 2 years old, and is the most loving pup I have ever met! She is such a good girl, and is constantly begging for pets and snuggles and attention.

Her and Ellie are becoming best buds already, although they only seem to want the other one’s food šŸ™„ Georgia is Ellie’s bunny-hunting apprentice at the moment, and is doing a great job assisting chasing the rabbits out of the backyard (don’t worry, neither one of them is even CLOSE to catching one šŸ˜‚)

I am so excited to have Georgia join our little family, and can’t wait to share her journey with you all! 😊
