Storytelling is medicine.

And I do not say that lightly.

For the past 1.5 years, I have been part of something that genuinely helped save me during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

These past six years have been… a lot.

COVID, trying to save and pivot our businesses, carrying responsibility, holding it together, often feeling like I was doing it all alone.

And somehow, week after week, this community held me.

Every week, I have been showing up to Tracey Erin Smith’s SOULO Club (Giddy Up Club + SOULO Creation Lab), and it has been one of the most grounding, inspiring, healing communities I have ever experienced.

This is not just a “writing group.”

It is a space where people come together to create, reflect, share, laugh, cry, and remember who they are.

Because when we write our stories, we stop carrying them alone.

On Wednesdays we meet for Giddy Up, an accountability session where you actually get things DONE.

On Fridays we gather for writing prompts and sharing… and honestly, the pieces people write are breathtaking.

It is real community. Real connection. Real healing through words.

And Tracey is an extraordinary facilitator, the kind of person who makes you feel safe, seen, and supported instantly.

If you have ever wanted to:
write a book,
create a one-woman show,
tell your story,
heal your heart,
find your voice again,
get out of isolation,
or simply feel connected to a beautiful group of humans…

I cannot recommend SOULO Club enough. You will be held. You will be encouraged. You will grow.

And if you think, “I’m not a writer…”
Yes you are.

Your life is already a story.
This just helps you reclaim it.

A Love Note to Our Green Moustache Community 💚

The Green Moustache is honoured to share that after 12 years, we are moving into a new chapter.

Thank you for being part of our story.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who walked through our doors, shared a meal, brought a friend, supported our mission, and believed in what we were building. Green Moustache existed because of you.

A very special thank you to our beautiful partner in business, Paula at 3 Singing Birds. We truly could not have made it this far without her steady presence, care, and support by our side.

As we look ahead, this next chapter continues the same mission in a new form. Nicolette and the Richer Health team are now focused on building a Chronic Disease Reversal Hotel, designed to support deeper healing, education, and long-term transformation.

If you would like to learn more or stay connected, you are welcome to reach out to Nicolette and follow along at www.richerhealth.ca

This has been a truly fun, meaningful, and unforgettable adventure. We will carry it with us always.

With so much love and gratitude,
the Green Moustache team 💚

There are moments in life when logic can’t answer the questions we’re carrying.

When therapy, books, or trying harder no longer move the needle. When the mind wants clarity, but the heart is whispering something deeper.

If you’ve felt that whisper, this is for you.

At Kulandira, we work with the spiritual dimension of healing, the part most people never talk about.

Your intuition isn’t imagination. It’s intelligence. Ancient, embodied, and deeply human.

Modern research now confirms what Indigenous cultures have always known: intuition is a brain–body process, shaped by lived experience, memory, and sensory awareness. It’s often more accurate than conscious thought.

But trauma, chronic stress, and emotional weight can drown out that signal.

We lose clarity. We feel disconnected from ourselves.

Sacred plant medicine, when held with care and integrity, can help quiet habitual thinking and reopen perception. Not by giving you something new, but by helping you remember what’s always been there.

At Richer Health and Kulandira, we hold this work with deep reverence for its Indigenous roots.

Our Sacred Plant Ceremony is not recreational. It’s intentional, trauma-informed, and carefully guided to help you reconnect to:

your intuition
your inner truth
your ancestral strength
your spiritual clarity
your next chapter of healing

Alcohol, drugs, prescriptions — they’re tools to stop the pain for now. But numbing isn’t healing. The real work starts when we go deeper.

Our guest in our newest podcast episode is Dr. Don Wood, a clinical psychologist who developed a groundbreaking approach to healing trauma after his own daughter was diagnosed with two incurable autoimmune diseases. What he uncovered was a direct link between unresolved trauma and chronic illness — and it changed everything he thought he knew about healing.

We talk about why anxiety and depression aren’t life sentences, but nervous system glitches — and how the body can reset and heal when you address the root cause.

We often hear people say, “I’ve tried everything.”

Diets. Therapy. Medications. Yoga. Cleanses.

And I believe them.

Because many of those tools can help, sometimes a lot. But here’s what we’ve learned after years of doing this work: lasting healing often doesn’t happen until we stop treating the body and mind as separate.

The modern world puts wellness into silos. Your doctor treats your body. Your therapist treats your mind. But what happens when those parts of you don’t get to speak the same language?

Metabolic nutrition & detoxification supports the body at a cellular level with real, nutrient-dense food. And yet food alone isn’t always enough. Many people eating “clean” are still stuck, sick, or unhappy.

Why?

Because the body cannot fully heal when the nervous system is living in survival.

Trauma, chronic stress, and unprocessed emotion live in the body. The body holds the score.

When nutrient-dense food is paired with trauma-informed, altered-state healing, something powerful happens.

The body is supported to repair and regulate, while the nervous system is given space to release what it’s been holding.

Together, this is full-spectrum wellness — one that honours the body, mind, and spirit in equal measure.

This is the work we’ve been doing at Richer Health and Kulandira.

From January 23–25, we’re opening a small Group Sacred Plant Ceremony happening in Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island. This is a 3-day, in-person journey supported by plant-based healing meals, deep coaching, and a trauma-informed ceremonial process.

I want to be honest: this is not a weekend escape, and it isn’t for everyone. It’s not a band-aid.

It’s deep work.
It’s raw.
It’s beautiful.
And when done safely, it can change everything.

I have been holding this close to my heart for years, and today I finally get to share it with you.

Eighteen years ago, when I first watched a client reverse an “incurable” diagnosis using food as medicine, I remember thinking "One day, we need a place where people can come to heal like this every single day."

That dream has stayed with me through every client journey, every consult, every hospital hallway conversation, every life changed.

And now it is happening.

We are building the Richer Health Hotel and Wellness Centre, Canada’s first hotel designed entirely for chronic disease and mental health conditions reversal. A 170 suite healing destination with a whole food plant based restaurant, wellness spaces, and an education and research centre all under one roof.

A place where guests come not just for comfort and relaxation but for transformation.

This project is the biggest and most meaningful work we have ever taken on , and it is the culmination of a 20-year vision.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 10 at 1 PM PST, we are hosting an online introduction gathering, and I want you there with us from the very beginning. We are so excited to finally give you a detailed look at what we are building and share how you can be part of it.

You can register here: https://www.richerhealth.ca/rhh-partner-gathering or at the link in my bio.

Thank you for being part of this community and for believing in healing. I cannot wait to share this with you.

Diets are a trap.

Here’s what I’ve learned after decades of helping people reverse diseases:
❌ You don’t need another diet.
❌ You don’t need more restriction.
❌ You don’t need to count, measure, or obsess.

You need to reconnect—with real food and your own body.
Because here’s the truth: once you feed your body what it was designed to eat, it remembers. Your energy comes back. Your skin clears. Your digestion improves. Your weight stabilizes naturally. Your mind gets sharp again. And your spirit lifts in ways you forgot were possible.

It’s about being free. Free from the cycle of fad diets, guilt, inflammation, and confusion. Free to enjoy food again. To feel good in your body. To trust it. To love it.

No more diet culture. No more shame.
Just real food and real healing—one bite at a time.

And if you’re ready to stop guessing and start thriving, we’ve got something just for you 👇

Join our Eat Real to Heal 6-Week Live Coaching Program starting May 6, 2025. This isn’t a crash course; it’s a full-body, full-life reset. With real-time support, coaching, and a community that gets it.

If you're ready to finally take back your power—drop a 💚 below or DM me "READY" and I’ll send you the details

It’s funny when you think about it; how we often search and spend so much time (and money for complex health solutions and spend thousands on supplements, biohacking, or health hacks yet one of the best things we can do for our bodies is literally free: walking.

7,000 steps a day can cut your risk of dying by up to 70%. Get closer to 10,000-12,000 steps, and the benefits skyrocket. But—it’s not just about racking up steps; it’s about moving throughout the day and muscle contraction.

Walking has also been linked to 50% reduction in risk of Alzheimer’s & dementia, lower rates of obesity & Type 2 diabetes, depression & anxiety, lower risk of several types of cancer, better digestion & reduced gastric reflux, and so much more health benefits.
The human body is designed for movement. Think about the Blue Zones—regions where people consistently live to 100+ years. These centenarians build movement into their daily lives. They walk everywhere, garden, cook, and stay active in simple ways.

So, let’s keep it simple: Stand up every 30 minutes or every hour. Walk after meals. Stretch. Take the stairs. Move more, more often. Your body will thank you.

Make walking a daily, non-negotiable habit—it’s the simplest path to lifelong health.

🚀 Your challenge today: Get up and go for a walk right now. Whether it’s 5 minutes or 30 minutes, just move. Then, come back to this post and comment on how you feel after!

A shocking new study published in Nature Medicine has revealed that microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) are accumulating in the human brain at higher levels than in the liver and kidneys. Yes, in our brains. 🤯

Microplastics are now everywhere—in the food we eat, the water we drink, and even the air we breathe. The average person unknowingly ingests, drinks, or inhales between 78,000 and 211,000 plastic particles every year. Research has already linked MNPs to increased risks of cardiovascular disease, faster cancer cell spread in the stomach, and potential neurological effects. Scientists are now calling for urgent research to fully understand the impact of these plastic particles on brain health.

What should we do? We can take steps to reduce our exposure. Switching to glass or stainless steel water bottles, choosing fresh, whole foods over packaged options, filtering tap water, avoiding plastic-wrapped produce, and saying no to plastic utensils and straws can all make a difference.

This study is a powerful reminder that the plastic crisis has become a human health crisis—and reducing plastic use isn’t just about saving the planet; it’s about protecting ourselves.

Adopting a plant-based, whole-food lifestyle, like the Eat Real to Heal way won’t be easy at first. It’s about letting go of the processed foods, refined sugars, oils, and salts that are making you sick, and embracing whole, single-ingredient foods. You’ll need to learn how to cook and face questions from family and friends—like, “Where’s the protein?", "What about fats?" or “But fruits are high in sugar!"Even doctors may tell you diet has nothing to do with your health.

In those moments, it’s okay not to have all the answers. You don’t have to explain everything. Just start. Try it and commit to learning. Start reading, listening to podcasts, and taking courses about chronic disease reversal. If someone’s not teaching you how to reverse your diabetes in 7 to 30 days, then don’t waste your time or money. They’re just giving you advice that won’t get you healthy or reverse your chronic disease.

The right program will focus on helping you get off or gradually reduce your meds, make you feel amazing, and ensure it’s sustainable for life. That’s the program you want.

So, when you commit to this new way of life, remember to be patient with yourself. Be kind. Surround yourself with an army of people who share your goal. And when the naysayers come, ignore them. Put on your blinders and stay focused.

And here's a photo of me with a green moustache 😆

93 to 97% of lifestyle-related diseases are caused by our diet. Let That Sink In. 🚨

The foods we eat every single day are the driving force behind chronic illness. Yet, people still say, “Your disease has nothing to do with your diet or lifestyle.”

Wait… WHAT?! Really? What do you mean by that?

80–90 years ago, these diseases were rare—or didn’t even exist. You know what else didn’t exist?
❌ Fast-food chains on every corner
❌ Ultra-processed, refined, chemical-laden foods
❌ Corporations mass-producing “food” designed for profit, not health

You can’t even trust labels that say “organic” or “healthy” anymore. If it comes in a box or package, chances are it’s still loaded with additives, artificial ingredients, and preservatives—designed to prolong shelf life, not human life.

Let’s get one thing straight: Food is NOT just fuel. It’s not just comfort. It’s not just for celebration. FOOD IS MEDICINE.

But only if you choose the right foods. Otherwise? It’s poison.

Most of us eat anywhere from one to three, or four or five meals a day, right? So, what are you feeding your body every day?
