COR Long-Term Care Homes Welcome to the new County of Renfrew Long-Term Care Home page! Miramichi Lodge, located in the City of Pembroke, is a non-profit, 166 bed long-term care home.

It is owned and operated by the County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke and has provided quality care to the frail and elderly since 1969. Miramichi Lodge operates under the direction of the Administrator and is regulated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care under the Long-Term Care Homes Act 5.0.2007, which came into force July 1, 2010. The Lodge is a non-smoking facility and property. The Home provides 24 hour nursing and personal care, nutritious meals and snacks, activation and recreation, rehabilitation, palliative and pastoral care, housekeeping, laundry and administrative support. The Lodge has an annual budget in excess of approximately $11M and employs over 200 staff. Bonnechere Manor, a municipal (not-for-profit) long-term care home located in the Town of Renfrew, provides long-term care services to 180 residents. It is owned and operated by the County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke and has provided quality care to the frail and elderly since 1958. In 1995, residents and staff moved to our new, state-of-the-art Home located at 470 Albert Street. Bonnechere Manor operates under the direction of the Director of Long-Term Care and is regulated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007. The Manor is a non-smoking Home and property. It has an annual budget of approximately $15 M and employs approximately 250 staff.

March 2–8 is Ontario’s Social Work Week, and at Miramichi Lodge and Bonnechere Manor, we are proud to celebrate the incredible dedication, compassion, and expertise of our Social Workers.

At both homes, the Social Worker role is at the heart of the interdisciplinary team, offering personalized support not only to our residents, but also to their families. Their work strengthens connections, advocates for resident wellbeing, and ensures compassionate care through every stage of the journey.

This year’s Social Work Week theme, "Care. Insight. Together." beautifully captures the essence of the profession. It reflects the versatility and accessibility of our homes social workers, as well as their commitment to meeting individuals wherever they are; physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Miramichi Lodge and Bonnechere Manor are proud to announce the successful implementation of the POCT GeneXpert Xpress System, a state-of-the-art point-of-care diagnostic platform that significantly enhances the speed and accuracy of respiratory infectious disease testing within the home.
